DAILY QUESTION: How do you handle coral fragging in your tank? Are you a frequent fragger? Occasional fragger? Or only when you have to prune?

I haven't fragged a coral yet but most likely I'll only frag when I have to prune.

QOTD: My Birdsnest gets prunes as needed, my other corals are usually "Oops, I fragged it again!"

I hope everyone now has Britney Spears, "Oops! I did it again." stuck in their head.

The best thing I've done to boost coral growth in my tank is to maintain optimal water quality consistently. I frequently test parameters like pH, alkalinity, calcium, and others to keep them within the ideal ranges for coral growth. Keeping the salinity and temperature stable is also crucial to prevent stress on the corals.

Quality lighting has been essential, and using a full-spectrum light like the K7 V3 provides the necessary light for photosynthesis. Balancing nutrient levels is important, ensuring there aren't excess nitrates and phosphates, but still providing enough nutrients for the corals. Proper water flow helps with nutrient distribution and waste removal, and I also supplement with coral foods and amino acids as needed. By focusing on these aspects, I've created an environment where my corals can flourish.

DAILY QUESTION: What has been the best lighting setup you've used for growing corals? Why do you like this one?

I had a lot of success using metal halide and 4 t5 bulbs. But it was difficult to acclimate new corals without bleaching and with almost 800 watts of light over a 75g tank…it was challenging to keep a mixed reef. All zones were very high par

I have been using reefbreeders photons, first the v1 and now the v2+ and they have worked out very well for me. I love the coverage, the color spectrums, and adjustability

Only when I need to. I avoid it at all costs. But something’s are growing too large and the time will come soon. I just bought a dremel to help
