DAILY QUESTION: How do you acclimate new corals to your tank?
QOTD: Plop and drop?

I usually temp acclimate for 15-20 minutes and then drop them in the tank and try a couple of locations in the tank to figure out where they're happiest.

I used to drop acclimate but it seemed like I'd lose more that way.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you acclimate new corals to your tank?
I agree with @tbrown I plop and drop. I temp adjust for 30 minutes to an hour and then put them in. Maybe move them around to see where they look happiest or I assume they will be happiest.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you acclimate new corals to your tank?

On my first coral, I will probably temperature acclimate for about 15 minutes and then drip acclimate.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you acclimate new corals to your tank?

2 QT are setup.

QT Tank #1 gets new coral(s). Float bag. Place frag(s) in QT

2 days later: remove frag plug(s), dip coral in Bayer and CoralRX, rinse in saltwater and into QT Tank #2. Frag(s) stay in QT for 6 weeks

If no pests, frags go into display

DAILY QUESTION: What has been the best lighting setup you've used for growing corals? Why do you like this one?
I am still in the process of setting up my lighting. I have a fluval coral light but have been checking out better lights to add eventually. I am hoping to start with softies until then.

I am still doing research on this topic but I will be doing testing and dosing manually to start with.
