Thanks @HotRocks
Cupramine is ionic copper it has a theraputic range of .35-.50ppm. It is known to be more harsh on certain fish than the forms or chelated copper.

If your dealing with velvet, and can get the cupramine immediately, I'd say it's better than waiting. Velvet kills quick.

Yeah apologies, the local distributor told me they only come in the 25 pack kits and the other is for the higher end unit only.. which is most likely wrong (they're not Hanna, just a sci-supply retailer)

Looks like you found a good outlet!

Smaller doses is the key. Avoid the two big doses as listed on the bottle. Dose drops each hour or every other hour. Just keep track. Use a grease pencil and mark on the tank glass to help keep track of your total dosage.

Thanks @Big G
Per Seachem, directions say therapeutic level of .5 for Cupramine at 2ml(40 drops) per 40L or 1 drop per 1L over 48 hours. How many drops per hour would you recommend for a 20G QT w/ ~15G water? How would you break up the 48 hour total dosage (15G = 56.78L = 56 drops) so I'm not dosing every 1-2 hours thru the night?

This chart breaks down treatment options for some of the more sensitive species

Thanks @dwwataz
Also have Blenny (Canary), Damsels (Yellowtail) which I didn't see in the chart.

I'm pretty sure you can place damsels in a nuclear waste pond and they'd survive(some people still use them to cycle tanks afterall). I have a sailfin blenny who has done perfectly fine in copper. Prazi seems to irritate him for an hour or so but then he returns to his goofy self. I think, given you'll be slowly ramping this up over the next 24-48 hours, he should be fine

If it were my fish and I had the time, I'd dose each hour or two when I'm up and about. And then use a slightly higher dose to cover at bedtime. But then again I'm old and only sleep about 5 hours at night. LOL

Tested against cuppramine 0.1ml to 1gallon

So the tester works. Just think my Copper power might be off and I think my Tupperware of sand is absorbing all the copper do I removed it. The lennardi will have to deal with no sand to sleep in for a month. :)

I'll test for copper and ramp it up accordingly to get it to 1.80ppm

Put an assortment of "cleaned" different sizes of pvc pipe fittings in there for the Lennardi to use like a cave.

I haven't had a sand dweller (yet), but I've seen a few posts where wrasse gurus intentionally don't give them sand right away anyway. It helps to teach them your "daylight hours" and with getting them to start eating

So is my math correct in order to achieve Cupramine's .5 therapeutic level? Add the two large doses together and divide by 48 hours? (Example: 1ml per 40L x 2 doses in 48 hours = 2ml per 40L/48 hours = .04ml per hour). If a train leaves Chicago at ...

BTW those 5 hours are critical to life over the next 19 hours of the day...;)

Do you know your total dosage? If it was, say, 2ml every 24 hours x2 I'd simply break it down to .5ml every 6 hours for a total of 8 doses

0r .25 every 3. As long as it's spread out you should be fine. If you sleep through a couple doses just slightly increase the next couple
