+1 I've used it as well. The trick to Cupramine is to dose small doses every couple of hours rather than the two big doses they suggest on the bottle.Agree entirely. .5 is where I’ve used it.
Smaller doses is the key. Avoid the two big doses as listed on the bottle. Dose drops each hour or every other hour. Just keep track. Use a grease pencil and mark on the tank glass to help keep track of your total dosage.Hawkfish are given 2/5 safety for ionic, which is the same as my fairy wrasses for chelated. In other words, it's relatively safe. Coppersafe or copper power would be preferred but given you're dealing with velvet, ionic should be fine.
I do not know the recommended dosing procedure for it with velvet. I know you want to be therapeutic within 48 or so hours, but I don't know the ml/g breakdown
It's fluid you put in the cuvette and test. It is supposed to yeild a certain number like 2.0ppm. It's just a way to periodically check your checker to make sure your readings are accurate.
Just like you use the fluid for refractometer. But no that fluid wouldn't work with checker because it doesn't contain copper.
I have the Hanna calibration test kit. It contains two certified tested cuvettes: one "0.0 ppm" water; the other is "2.0 ppm" water. Instructions say when you test your checker, 1.90-2.10 ppm are acceptable range.

How did you get the offer for 300 packs lol?If anyone needs reagents let me k ow since mine was back order Hanna offered me the 300 pack version. I don't need the extra 200 tests brand new boxes.

Used my last, very scarce reagent pack today . . . removing copper from my QT. Wanted to test the API Copper Test Kit at very low levels. Guess what the kit said I had removed the copper down to .25 ppm. But my last, very scarce reagent pack was used to check the accuracy and as before it was way off. Hanna Checker said .50 ppm. Yikes. The API Copper Test Kit is darn near useless. Arrrgh.I don't think they make a 300 pack. That may be why your readings are off if you got the 300 pack for the portable photometer. Maybe they work the same. What do the reagent packets say on them

The Hanna High Level Calibration kit is only good for about a year according to the kit I received. Apparently the chemicals will degrade. And here's the kicker. You can't adjust a Hanna High Level Copper Checker. The only one that can be adjusted is the next level up and is mucho denero. Thanks, HotRocks. I'll order the fluid then. I'm waiting for everything on back order anyway. Might as well be ready if I need it or just for piece of mind.

The reagent is made in Romania for Hanna. Might take awhile to get here. . . .They have 300 pack it's for the more expensive unit. They told me it's same reagents just different numbering. Mae Lorie called me you asked if I wanted to switch. It's actually 3x 100 packaging.
