Jackie,
Your shots in the article are awesome!!! :D
I love that Daniel put your shots in the article and @MrMichael 's quote... "They will eat or they will starve"

@mdbannister
Has been really busy ;Wacky but he did find the time to edit the final piece.
To myself, it could not be any better ;Singing ;Singing ;Singing and we have do give Daniel, a big (Kudos) ;Woot ;Woot

I hope that the piece is serving other Reef2Reef members very well but they need to read and soak in the article to decide if the nudi method is for them.

Yes, BIG kudos to Daniel! @mdbannister

These little guys are just amazing workhorses without a doubt :D I know some people order only 3 or 4 but to get the results I'd say no less than 10 as a couple may not survive. Then it takes time for them to populate and begin eradicating the aptasia.

I just peeked into the 29g. The only aptasia left are on the return. I saw 4 very large berghia and a small one. I also see something that may be eggs and will have to tag Ryan in an edit cuz I always forget the numbers after his name... I did get another nice pic of one of them :) I won't try to collect any (for the 180g)until I see no more aptasia in this tank.

The black background pic is of one on the back glass I swear it was about 1.25-1.5 inches long! Next is a pic of the return with the only temaining aptasia in the tank. The next pic is of the return where the nut is... berghia is in there. The rock pic at the top center a little to the left is the eggs and a small berghia to the left of the eggs and finally a lucky shot of another huge one on the glass :D

@Ryan2428 I know it's hard to see but do the eggs in the rock picture look like berghia eggs to you? I don't have anything else in my tank that would lay eggs like that that I know of.

Oh, one more pic I want you to see...remember the locline return nut with the berghia? All those little bitty white lines are babies!!!!! Check out this next pic and stretch or zoom in on the base of that aptasia to the right. It's full of those little babies [emoji12]

I might try collecting some tomorrow night since I had a thought.... with these few aptasia that are left, plus being in a reachable location - the sooner the better or I may not see them again.

Jackie,
I'm so happy for you, that they are kicking in.
From my memory they wiped out your seahorse reef really quick but you've had a long wait on your 29 gallon.

I was covering the display overnight with blankets. Our 19 year old was out of school and she was staying up all night with the TV and lamps on.

Your black out observation could have some merit and that's a great "Tip".

The 180 is a hard call. You want them to get going on that reef but at the same time, you need to make sure the 29 gallon is totally wiped out.

Maybe you can pull some of them out of the 29 but leave enough in there to complete the job.

I agree that going with just a few of the nudi's to save a buck, is a bad call.

Either way it is a great feeling and I will do the nudi's in the future, if need be.

The S-400 is still aiptasia - free but I'm not adding any new livestock either.

Thanks for keeping the thread going for others to see your (play - by - play) and your shots have so much detail. ;Woot ;Woot

+1 Freddie :D I only plan to take out what I can catch (IF i can catch them that is)since there are a TON of babies.

Yes I only had about a dozen in the seahorse tank and we're wiped out in about 2 weeks. It is strange though that I never actually saw any after putting them in and I never saw any after the aptasia was gone in that tank.

I figure once the 29 is wiped out that they'll just die off anyway. So I really have nothing to lose by putting them in the 180 if the wrasses get them. I will at least know by then if even putting them in the 180 is an option. I have to try though because they are in fact multiplying in the 180 quite a bit.

Thank you, I am sure total blackout helps. When I went into the room last night the only light in the room was coming from outside the door once I opened it. It was very difficult to take pictures in the dark I had to just aim and shoot and hope I got something LOL it's hard to do especially with flash. But the flash in the light coming from the door basically chased them off pretty quickly. That is other than the ones that were already on the return.

Great Idea :)

And you've got "live action" going on, for others to see :D

So after the nudis eat the aiptasia, they simply die off? Where do I get these guys from? I have a small outbreak on one of my main pieces of aiptasia and they have started to spread from failed aiptasia x uses.

Haha! I caught 5 nice size Berghia just now! And if you look real good at the bottom south side of the picture you'll see a ring of eggs too :D as soon as the last lights go out in the 180 they will be going into their new home!
