I can't wrap my head around this. The outcome seemed pretty predictable, why kill all those otherwise healthy animals?
Actually it really wasn’t predictable at all. Several people reported successful treatments with fantastic results, and not one person that I know of reported the “lingering effects” of Ivermectin or how it binds to substrates. At this point, I think I’m the only one that has openly admitted or reported that. Not to mention, nobody reported that it is near impossible to remove from a system. UV, Ozone, H2O2, Bleach, 100% Water Change, etc…all failed to remove it, and I’m not the only one who tried. There were a couple anonymous people, and a few pro’s who also treated, but kept quiet. They also had major issues, and a few crashed their tanks as well. Now we all know not to treat the tank unless you know how to remove it or treat at much lower dose.
The corals were healthy yes, but were slowing down with worms in nearly every single piece. They would have kept growing, but not at their full potential. Eventually…many would have become stunted. Some already were. Others would have died a slow death. It was a 50/50 gamble that didn’t pay off unfortunately. That’s reefing.
