What are those colorful and moving soft corals in your tank that family and friends “eyes” just gravitate to?
1. My Zoa rock for sure!
2. My 7 year old, 20” Gorgonian!
3. My newest member to the tank, “Pinkie” a beautifully vivid RBTA.
note: my wife named the nem Pinkie. It keeps her involved. ;)

Hate to admit it but as several of my tanks are seen by individuals who are not familair with reef animals I get lots of compliments on pulsing xenia. Of the individuals somewhat familar, generic orange/green zoas.
IMO, Pulsating Xenias are phenomenal!!! The problem being faced is 2 fold. #1. They spread too fast. And #2. They are a boring tannish color. Every reefer comes to the conclusion that many easier corals are both tan and spread far too fast. Xenias, Sinularia, Kenya tree, Some lesser desirable button polyps etc. And we all realize our tank’s footprint and space limitations. And off to the lfs to purchase reds, greens, blues etc. But the cool thing about Xenias is their unique movement. Enjoy them.

I love leathers. Love them. Especially toadstools and weeping willows. Something about them getting to a nice large size and seeing all the little polyps sway is something I really like. Also Zoas I love me some Zoas. And I’m a big fan of gorgonians

For a favorite, I'm torn between the massive anthelia I recently fragged out or the colt.

That was a couple of years of hunting to find a good sized frag, total slow grower. Looking for a carnation and a blue colt also.
Wow “Carnation” very nice. Haven’t seen that coral for ever either. Great choices.

I'm all about the old school stuff now. Softies & zoas are much easier to keep without the hassle. My cube tank is now the sps experiment.

I hear you! My sps/lps colonies suffered a bit after I eradicated Blue Clove Polyps just over a year ago. I’ve started (successfully) some sps frags in my display tank but they’re not really taking off as of yet. The drama continues. Lol

i cant think

Everyone hates them but mine has to be the Kenya Tree :)
I just love the faint blue it adds to the rock on this side of the tank.

However if I ever find a Sarcophyton glaucum I’m sure it’ll change :)

I do love the 3 varieties of kenya I have, but they can be a pita! Especially the constant shredder, its constantly dropping babies and I need to trim it again.

Pink/red/orange carnations are stunning but near impossible to keep alive as they are non-photosynthetic and have to be constantly fed (live baby brine, plankton etc.) to keep alive. I tried some years ago and a big no go which is why near no one offers them anymore and if they do it's arrive alive only.

I had an orange years ago, it was a heck of a coral to keep alive. I did successfully for about a year. My current hard corals are sps and photosynthetic gorgonians.
