My 3yo gorgoian started as a lil 1" nub and has become a gigantic beast. I love watching the waving arms and polyps. Now I need to frag it and I'm scared to cut into it. Any recommendations about the best tools and process are welcome. It's not the showiest of colors but under my new light the polyps have become more pink than brown.

Beautiful tank. Yes, I have cut mine in the past. No a problem at all. Use something sharp, bone cutters, scissors etc.

Thank you! It's my first saltwater tank and Gorg was one of my earliest additions and has thrived, which brings me so much joy. I also have a euphyllia (I think it's some sort of torch-hammer hybrid) that has blossomed from a single head that was trying to detach at the lfs when I got it to more heads than I can count. It dropped a head and fragged itself for me over a year ago and now "baby hammer" has six heads and several are in the midst of splitting right now. I wanted more kinds of euphillia but every new one I put in dies so I'm just going to focus on the beautiful one I have been so successful with. I try to be very slow and deliberate with any changes I make with the tank (has been key to keeping a stable tank) and not quite sure what I want to do in the middle zone (bright and higher flow so it might support some hardier acros) and around the keyhole on the left (darker and less flow). The rock work has changed quite a bit over the years and I finally feel happy with it. Let's hope my massive turbo doesn't decide to re-scape it again like he did last week or I'll finally have to epoxy a bunch of it.

Those zoas are amazing!!!
Thank you! While researching and creating a list of corals for my tank, back in 2021, I came across Iansreef on YouTube. His zoa garden was my inspiration. Still mine looks dull compared to his but I’m pleased with what I have.

Love the sinularia. Its been in elusive one for me to have long term success with.
I was initially looking for a colt coral ( had one for years grew great and was easy) and the owner of my LFS said she hasn’t seen them in years and suggested the sinularia. It was the size of my pinky and rubber banded to a plug. Since I was making a large purchase she threw it in for free.
