I have a hospital tank I'm cycling with live rock & bacteria

Then I'll use amoxicillin to heal a coral

Will the amoxicillin kill the good bacteria and screw up my corals trying to rehab?

It might - you will just need to use water changes - check ammonia. etc - ps it's not the best idea to use antibiotics with live rock.

What's the process for proper disposal of the water with antibiotics in it?

Yes, Amoxicillin will inhibit nitrifying bacteria, but like Erthromycin, how much it does so seems to vary from case to case, and I’m not sure what the variable for that is.

Absolutely. Positively. It will decrease the population but is unlikely to totally eradicate it. That's my take on it anyway. Finally! Something right up my aisle!

Do not use. Some resort to Cipro which I dont recommend either. Maracyn is safest. I know of some who use ChemiClean to cure coral as it has good ingredients

It's the dose used. A high dose will do more damage. A good example in humans was an increase from 40mg/kg to 90mg/kg in children with more complicated ear infections back in the 90's. Worked like a charm.

The FDA recommends putting drugs in a plastic bag with an undesirable substance, such as cat litter or coffee grounds, and throwing them in the garbage,6 which is then taken to a regulated disposal site. Most unused medicines should not be washed down the sink or toilet.
