I think the problem is that most reefers don’t know, and they’re relying on others to mix up their stock solutions. Not a good idea. You need to know what’s being added to the system in order to understand and tweak the dosing.

I think he’s saying he agrees with you 1000x.1000?
Was that 1000ml or 1000ppm? I kid, I kidI think he’s saying he agrees with you 1000x.

I add about 10ml of Randy’s solution to my ~80gallon (water volume) about 4-5 times a week.
Seems to keep nitrates at about 2-3
70% of what the calculator producesDon’t get me started on mL talk! I hate when people talk in mL!!!
Randy gave the details, be maybe some missed it. I always make my solutions using calculators and molar mass.
Is he saying 0.7 less than the amount for ammonium bicarbonate? Or 70% less. I need to look up the mass.
From Randy:Here we go…10mL. lol
Go plug that into that calculator and get back with me. Let’s see what your ppm dose is.
Common core breakdown please? HaFrom Randy:
“To add 0.1 mg/L ammonia to an aquarium, you would need to add 2.3 mL of either stock solution to a 100 L ”
80 gallon = ~300L
So 0.1 x 10/2.3 x 100/300 = ~0.15ppm
Wait 70% less or 30% less. 70% sounds like a lot. The molar mass can’t be that different.? @Randy Holmes-Farley70% of what the calculator produces
Multiply the ppm by 0.7Wait 70% less or 30% less. 70% sounds like a lot. The molar mass can’t be that different.? @Randy Holmes-Farley

I don’t think people need the calculator, but it should work.
Why do we think it doesn’t?
What I say above is that it works as is for ammonium bicarbonate and needs adjustment for ammonium chloride.
