Hello everyone, I am experiencing an unexplained loss of color in the acros in my aquarium and, although rare, deaths occur. What is the reason for this? I would be glad if you could help me. The Caribbean rocks in my tank are 3 years old.
The newest acro piece is 5 months old. I've had the ones in the picture for 6-7 months.

Tank dimensions: 60x50x50 cm

illumination: Radion XR30 G4 Pro operates in SBS AB+ mode at 85% intensity, 9 inches high

parameters;
Ca: 440
mg: 1350
Kh: 8
no3: 5ppm
po3: 03-08 ppm

pH: 8.1 8.2 CO2 scrubber connected to skimmer is available

I see KH says "(fixed)" in your post. How long ago was it "not fixed"?

Some of the pieces appear to be growing in your pics, but swinging parameters such as KH etc could be causing random losses of the weaker ones and/or sub optimal coloration

I meant to say kh is fixed at 8, wrong translation, sorry
NP. If you could get a photograph of the corals under purely white light, it would help better indicate if these pieces are healthy or not. Coloration doesn't look bad, but a few pieces do look dormant

How are you maintaining the tank? IE, water changes, calcium reactor, 2 part, 3 part, all for reef, moonshiners, ect.

I change 20 liters of water in my tank once a week. My tank is 150 liters in total. I apply the tropic marine balling method and enter the A and K elements.

I took it in blue light because the color loss of the creatures is not very noticeable in white light, but I will shoot it in white light as well.

I like nitrate over 10 and phosphate over 0.10. Losing color usually tells me a lack or imbalance in nutrients. Although you could have worms which will cause acros to slowly pale out then recede. Maybe take a baster or small pump to them and see if anything comes off. Probably wouldn't hurt to check the condition of your pumps and equipment.

There are no harmful creatures in my tank other than aiptasia bubble algae, I did what they said.I saw a little rust on the Vortech MP10 while cleaning it yesterday, I don't know if this could be the reason, I will send it to ICP at the end of the month.

So you started a thread on unexplained loss of color to your acros while knowingly having a rusted pump and more than likely heavy metal in your system? Good job!

Frankly, I didn't think of it, why don't other acros have the same problem? Walt Disney acro is more sensitive, but there is no problem with it.

I’d suspect the rusting power head. How have you been cleaning it? Vinegar?

At this point, I think that poly filter and water changes are all that can be done. Make sure that the water changes aren’t swinging your parameters much.

I never used vinegar when cleaning, I only cleaned it with a toothbrush under the fountain.
