I must order a dremel to be prepared. No. Not those cheap knock off ones. And not the corded one. I NEED the 12v lithium rechargeable one

Display Approx 2.5” fine sand, in use approx 12 years

Sump has a 3” layer of the same sand in the cryptic zone

Problem solved. I am rebooting my office 15g Waterbox Peninsula and it’s empty except for acan and zoa and a custom bonsai shelf rock structure. I have decided, today, this will become a gonipora dominant tank

Wanted to thank two companies that I feel are crucial to my tanks success. I’ve been using both for 10 years! Lighting is @Reef Breeders photon 48v2

Filtration is 100% @SantaMonica Surf 2 ATS. No water changes, no skimmer, no filter rollers, no mech filtration. Phosphates are always steady .02-.05 and nitrates always 3-6

Freshwater top off with All For Reef maintains / replenishes ca, alk, mg, and trace elements

Also add .1ml Moonshiners manganese supplement daily

my main display is near zero maintenance
one year going, i don’t check any parameters except salinity here and there, i do dose all for reef but water changes are rare and im running a canister filter which i clean the pre filter maybe every couple months
other than adding corals or cleaning the glass really don’t do much to it and have had really good success
love this approach (not because i’ve gotten lazy) but it’s easier to enjoy when you’re less stressed doing all these extra things and worried about numbers that aren’t always necessary to worry about

So mysteriously I lost my large raja rampage chalice that I’ve been growing out almost 1.5 years, reason completely unknown. Other chalice are doing fine. Found huge amounts of sponge coral under it. Also had an issue a while back with holes from a pest worm. Possible it caused some long term damage, or a wound that eventually developed an infection.

Replaced it with a beautiful lobophyllia colony. Also have added a bunch of Goni frags.

Everything is going well, 7 fish are eating 3-4 cubes of food a day, fighting has stopped between the anthias, the damsel no longer bothers the tang. Everyone is coexisting peacefully even during feedings. And speaking of feedings, I just picked up an Avast Plank feeder, and Wi-Fi timer, but my lid won’t accommodate. I will order a new right side lid from my lid guy, cause yea I got a guy for that, and then will install the plank in the near future

Coral photo update, and some pics from my 15g water box that I’m redoing as a Goni tank.

Moved the orange yellow lobo to the sandbed and freed up some space to mount some sps I ordered from @SBB Corals cant wait to get them! I’ll make a second post to show what’s incoming !
