Wow nice tank!

Maybe I missed it a bit but can you go into more detail of your lighting? Especially timing and blue/white light mixing?

I use reefbreeders photon v2+

1 and 2 are red/green. I always have this on zero

I have a preset for afternoon
Ch 3,5,6 blue, royal blue, violet - 40%
Ch 4 white - 8%

I have a morning / evening preset - 3,5,6 - 35%

I use morning /evening preset from 11am until 3 am

And I switch to the brighter afternoon preset usually 1pm-5pm

It’s random based on how I feel. I’m not strict about it. Around 10 or 11 I’ll turn it on to the morning preset. A random time early afternoon I’ll switch to afternoon. When I get out of work around 5 or 6 I’ll go back to the evening preset

No matter what preset I use the corals are getting either 35% or 40% blues and that’s all they need. I ran over year with blue/violet only on 35%.

The light does have a timer/schedule feature, I used to use it for more consistency but my profile got deleted and I never rebuilt it :/

Vote pic 2! A super rare instance captured of a torch with a banded/patterned flesh band!

If you don't dose anything and don't do waterchanges, does that mean none of your coral are growing?

Mine suck up enough alk/cal in a week that my tank would crash pretty quickly if I wasn't dosing to keep up with growth.

I feel like the math doesn't add up.

My coral grow great

In 1 year I grew 25+ heads of hammer, 12+ heads of torch. My scroll coral became 3” larger in diameter. My chalice grew 2-3”. I grew 10 exosphere zoanthids in 1.5 months. I don’t keep track of everything that’s just the top of my head

I don’t daily dose anything. I add all for reef in my once a week manual fw top off to maintain/replenish alk/ca/trace

I probably got lured away from post 1 by the pics in post 2

Very cool

I'm dosing AFR daily, otherwise my Alk swings wildly, but otherwise my tank is pretty similar to yours. I actually can't do waterchangers right now even if I wanted because I can't keep my nutrients high enough over the last year.

Keep rocking dude

What did you decide on the Raja?
Right now I’m going to wait it out but I have a dremel purchased.

I tried to remove it and it’s completely encrusted on rockwork. I am not the type to go crazy making changes because one coral is unhappy. Everything is doing great, something is affecting the raja only. If it gets worse I will probably discard the whole thing except for a small frag and then fill the space with something else.

It does take up a large area, and I could use it for other things if it came down to it

I figured removing it would do most of the fragging

And the dremel used to cut off the bad parts off

Anyway, nice tank and corals
You’re right

But it gave me an excuse to order the cordless dremel ;)

Honey we have a potential emergency. I might have to frag this in the middle of the night with no notice, and I don’t have the tools!

I must order a dremel to be prepared. No. Not those cheap knock off ones. And not the corded one. I NEED the 12v lithium rechargeable one
