Love that button scolly, they are in at my lfs but are silly money!

Snatched that one for $70. Usually they are double or higher over here. It's got a feather duster on the side of it too. I'll probably leave it there. Doesn't seem to bother the scoly any.

Sweet. that would be a $110 coral plus over here! :)

Went over to my friends house today with the Seneye. Tested out the tank since she added the Orephek bars.

Of course we came home with corals. A TON of corals. Oh, and this not so little guy. I took him to try and sell since I'm close to Columbia and not in the middle of nowhere... I'm contemplating keeping him tho.

@Scurvy, what do you think? Think I'll have a problem out of a 5" melanarus in my tank? It was being a little aggressive towards a mandarin, but the mandarin was a new addition and the thing is maybe an inch long.

Ooh, he’s pretty! Nice dark colors and im sure he’s stressed. With your scape Id say getting him out will be tricky. Halichoeres at least for me have proven to be pretty dang smart.

My concern would be your Iridis. If hes that much bigger and bullied a competitive Pod hunting Mandy he could be inclined to do so again.

Sadly I haven't seen the iridis in a month... :( I want another one, maybe once I get the anemone cube running and the clowns are moved over. Also when that damsel is kicked out.

I was worried about the black leopard tho. No one has bothered it yet, but a much bigger wrasse... my friend has had him (she thought it was a her) for 2 years, got the mandarin and a switch flipped. Probably best not to risk the aggression, altho it is a beautiful fish.

New corals, I just did get them dipped and in the tank to get pictures before lights out.

On the rack.
Um, front row left to right.
Monti setosa, monti spongodes, and I think Jedi Mindtrick monti.
Back row, left to right.
Acropora suharsonoi, Bonsai, Red Planet, rainbow monti, some sort of maybe grafted monti(maybe a cap)

So, the red planet and the bonsai are kinda funny story(s). She had 3, of each of them. Either she forgot what she had and bought the same coral again, or was told it was this and ended up being that... I'm leaning towards forgot what she had.

We also got two pieces of the purple cap that's growing together with the red cap in her tank. I placed mine close to the red see if I can get them to spiral together. I'll put hers up so you can see.

This is a tri color that lost its color. It has been really pale and keeps getting worse no matter where she puts it, so she wanted to see if I could color it up or kill it... lol

This is the frag left from the blue tip stag I got in Clayton, NC. Doesn't really have blue tips and is looking a little pale, it was a dark green. Not 100% on placement. I may move it.

Now that you say it again I remember you mentioning the Iridis was missing. That stinks, such a beautiful wrasse.

Another way to look at it would be in my reefer at one point i had a Blue Star, Mandarin, and Juvenile Melanarus which all got a long just fine. The fact that this one you have is clearly a mature male will be the difference however the Black Leopard has been in the tank and is established. Yes they’re competitors for pods and worms etc but i would probably still give it a shot.

How big was the system he came out of?

5' 150g. He was the only wrasse. Her fish list was; yellow tang, melanarus, yellow watchman, bangai cardinal. She just added 2 small clowns, two pajama cardinals and the mandarin last week. Last night we moved 3 chromis out of QT.

I placed him in my holding tank last night. The sand in that 20 long is deep enough for a 2" leopard, but not a 5" melanarus.

Its kinda surprising he would harass a Mandarin. Yes they’re competitive for pods but that tank was certainly big enough for the both of them and Mandy’s typically get left alone.

I guess the Melanarus being the only real micro predator in that tank for so long just wasnt having the new addition.

Well, he's in the 90. Lights on in 30 minutes so everyone is still asleep. Hopefully, there aren't any fights. The only thing I see getting aggressive with him, are the brunneus which he can handle, and Bonnie. Bonnie may give him a bit of a fight but he has an inch on her at least. Bonnie is around 3 1/4" and he's every bit of 4 1/2", maybe 5". My net is 4x5" and he was stretched out from one side to the other.

Oddly, this fish was the easiest net I've ever made. Went right in last night in her QT tank and once I startled him out of the sand in my holding tank he went right in also. No fight at all just scooped him up and transferred.
