Bam!!! The power of Facebook and reefer friends. Asked if anyone knew what this was and I only knew I got it from Golden Basket. A friend tagged the owner, Rudy himself and he told me it was a GB Blue Meteor tenuis. Blue as Oregon Tort, which I also got a piece of yesterday.

I told you I had an explosion of growth and coloration... this guy here, bright green base with blue tips and polyps. It reminds me of a blueberry bush.

The rest of the SPS are looking great as well.

This stylo is getting too much light. Still full polyp extension and not bleached, but it has lightened up a good bit. It needs to go closer to the sand bed, like next to the sand. I'll find a rock on the bottom of the tank for it tomorrow.

Birds nest are doing well(look at the Nirvana zoas behind the birds of paradise, whole frag is covered)

Monti setosa is branching down and not encrusting, but colorful. Needs just a little lower spot. The spongodes is starting to take off... I may need to isolate it somehow.

Last but not least, my canary coral, the first to let me know the tank isn't happy, the green trumpet. Polyps full and feeding.

Twice the size of last year, twice the vendors... plus... we may have won the R2R raffle. @revhtree, always nice to see you again. Thanks for the Reefer250!

Congratulations on the Reefer250!!!

Oh, and Mike Paletta was there to speak, but I was in line at the food truck...

Mike does not know about priorities apparently...

Oh, you're probably wondering where the corals are... well, we got a few for this tank. Mostly acros, now that we can grow them...
Oregon Tort. Old school cool. I love this one and have always wanted to grow one.

Tubbs stellata. Wanted another one since I had the MENs. Well, we got it.

ASD Rainbow Mille. We went looking for a red mille, ended up with a very bright orange one. Chunky too, its thicker the other way. About an inch size too.

Forgot the name, and who I bought it from. Was the first acro I bought. I thought it was a tort, but the guy said it was a tenuis.

JRC Red Dred. I got the last one, and as he was bagging it up someone asked if he had any more. It's that color red, in sunlight outside... SUPER red.

And the last acro, JRC Strawberry Shortcake. This is a colony they imported and have grown. They said this was 6th ot 7th generation frags, so very true to color and super aquacultured.

I got another coral from Jam Rock, it's a Rose Nebula zoa, but I dont have a picture because it was closed. I'll get one later. I spent enough with Jam Rock that I got an Easter egg, well the girlfriend picked it, and ended up scoring the Shortcake above for free. Sooo, I guess that's her shortcake... she's already claimed half ownership of the nano. Oh, and she said she gets to pick the fish for the Reefer... I've created a monster. ;Nailbiting;Facepalm;Vamp

You should go check out what we got for the nano... link in signature below ;Turtle

Great corals. They do look healthy.

OHH!!! I nearly forgot! T shirts!

I'll let you figure out who's is which...

I've decided to let my girlfriend set up, maintain and add fish and corals to the 250...

hahahahaha, oh who am I kidding. I'm buying what she wants to put on and in the tank and will be doing maintenance. I can just pull the guilty card when it's water change time... you wanted these angelfish, you gotta take care of them.

I haven't updated you guys in a while. Things are looking better than ever. Corals are bright and healthy, fish are fat and happy, nuisance algae is at a minimum... yea I said minimum. I have a few spots that hold a bit of algae. It doesn't grow, but doesn't go away either. I'm not worried with it. I figure it's a natural part of the ecosystem, and it is barely noticeable.

The monthly water changes have been working out very well. I can't believe what a difference it has made for my tank. I'm really ecstatic that I've finally found what works for me and my tank.

We just had to get over the whole hating water change day...

I bet you want to see some corals... no real order, just random shots.

Glued the new frags we got a Reef Dreams down yesterday. Waited until today to get pictures so they would be adjusted. Let's see if you can pick them out in the FTS...

Old acro, but haven't shared it in a while and it has grown some. It's an unknown piece.

*NOT THE FAIRY TALE*

What would you guys say these are... looks like 1.0 NH3 and 0.5 NO2 to me. Guess in the long run it doesn't really matter as long as they both end up at 0... teaching my girlfriend about the nitrogen cycle and patience in reefing.

WOW! I guess you have. Corals and pic's are stunning!
Sweet acan bounce
20190319_125053-jpg.1013249

JRC Aurora acan. One of my favorites.

I'm not sure what an acan bounce is tho. I'd probably throw away anything that bounced in my tank. I hate that fad. Cancer having mushrooms from blasting them with light. They're all on the edge of melting because of how much light they are being baked with.

/rant over...

All the pink tips are inflated
Ahh, I think acans with that pattern look like that. I have some without the bands around the outside of the polyps and they are smooth... like these down front on the left. All the others seem to be raised on the striping, even when I first buy them so it isn't because I'm blasting them with light.

Speaking of blasting with light... I measured the tank the other day with the Seneye because I have a few montis growing down. My red cap and the green elkhorn. I was thinking 300+ par in the middle of the tank... but I measured only half of that. The highest point where I put the Rainbow Milli, I only got about 300. My lights are on for 12 hours, with a 8 hour peak with the LEDs and only 6 hours of T5. PAR was measured at LED peak with T5 on. Everything tells me I have too much light, but then the meter says I don't have enough with everything wide open.
