Looks like salt and pepper, not black. The CaribSea Hawaiian that is about 80% black is magnetic. I know, I have two bags in the garage.
They have four different colors.

I guess collecting in winter would be best.

If you guys check out Paul B’s thread he goes and collects mud from in and around Long Island, NY to add to his tank. Does it yearly. He’s looking for all the microfauna that comes along with it I believe. It ain’t killed his tank at 40+ years.

BE Careful!! You may want to read up on his collection methods. Not sure I’d just grab from any old location. It’s been a while since I read most of his thread but if memory serves he would go off the beaten path to avoid oil/gasoline and the like from say a nearby marina. I think he went to certain tide pools that he’s familiar with and knows they’re relatively clean. Some of those in land water ways I remember golfing next to in Myrtle Beach for instance smelled and looked pretty rank.

Yea, some of them are pretty rank, some are brackish too and that water just smells. Around here gets a lot of tidal flow and its all salt, no brackish. I know the creeks around here, unfortunately I do not have a boat. I'm still going to get a small amount and put in my 10g experiment tank.

Just spent a solid 40 minutes monitoring for white poo and trying to get some decent shots of the newest aquisitions. They’re certainly not the Kardashians when it comes to the camera but here we have a Carpenters, Linespot, Lineatus and the best out of probably 100 shots of the Rose Band. (Pics loaded exactly opposite of description). Aside from the fish this tank is UGLY at the moment.

He’s a looker for sure. Actually thought i lost him. He vanished for a few days then re-appeared a couple days into Metro treatment. Im guessing he’s feeling a bit better ;Doctor

I was scrolling waiting to see a bright flashy lineatus, and the carpenter's was the looker. Hopefully he colors up more after the treatments and he matures a bit more.

Wrasses are some gorgeous fish.

Always was a Centropyge fan, until I was introduced to Cirrhilabrus. Awesome colors in both species... may have some difficulties mixing the two. I'm hoping by getting a small C. bispinosa and introducing it to wrasse while it is still small I can avoid any aggression later.

Its funny that Bonnie didn't mind the damsel, but the damsel didn't like the wrasse, and the angel doesn't mind the wrasse, but Bonnie doesn't like the angel. The damsel and angel are similar shape, color and size... the angel is just a bit larger.

Turtle, what filters do you have in your RODI? I know many municipalities have a high metal content through their water supply. Not harmful to humans, but definitely harmful to fish. Some of these can ONLY be removed by a special filter.

Off topic random question...is being called thick a compliment or an insult?

Definitely a compliment. Like... *clears throat in best f boi voice* "Dang girl, you thicc!" That's how they spell it... like phat. Thin is out, curvy is in. Personally, I've always gravitated to women who weren't anorexic and had a little 'junk in the trunk,' if you know what I mean.
