tank is looking great.
i dont know but I think it's a little too early for putting sps in that tank maybe?
Too late now, it's already stocked with thriving SPS. Stylophora, Pocillopora, Seriatophora, Acropora, Montipora Capricornis and Digitata. The seriatopora is growing like a weed, both stylophora looked like I was going to lose them before I moved them out of the 75g and they have made a full recovery. I even have a Duncan that was staying closed in the 75g and is open right now in the 14g, even with lights off. The other Duncan is looking fine in the 75g so it stays over there. That tank is my "dirty" tank. LPS palys and mushrooms. Very lightly stocked with corals. It holds a bonded pair of black ocelaris, a juvenile Caribbean blue tang, a small six line wrasse and my Hawaiian dwarf golden moray.

Water change and test everything day. Usual 1.5g Saturday water change. Test results taken 1 hour after water change.

Sg 1.025 refractometer
pH 8.2 API
Ca 430ppm Red Sea Pro
Alk 8.4dKH Red Sea Pro
Mg 1400ppm Red Sea Pro
NO3 0ppm Red Sea Pro
PO4 0ppm Red Sea Pro

I've read the red sea magnesium kit tests 100ppm high, so everything is exactly where I want it. Now if I can just keep it here. I'll be getting some coal food here soon to start feeding everything. I'm leaning towards the red sea reef energy products.

Went to the LFS today. Picked up some Red Sea Reef Energy A and B and some sea veggies for my other tank. My tang loves that stuff. I think that was the first time I went to my LFS and I didn't buy coral. I'm addicted to buying coral...

The Reef energy gets dosed 2ml of each(4ml/25g) a day.

I also got the rest of my Hanna checkers in. I love those things.

Sad news everyone. Friday night I came home from a friends house to find my coral beauty acting really lethargic and covered in white dots. I started a thread to try and get some help and it worked. Lots of great people here. I'm pretty sure it was velvet, given the quickness of it. I performed a fresh water dip while I was getting my QT set up so I could start treating the fish the next morning after a trip to buy medicine. After the FW dip she never acted the same, and passed away 45 minutes later. I never saw any signs of parasites before Friday night, no flashing or heavy breathing. The tank is fishless now, and I'm leaving it fallow for at least 6 weeks.

I bet, little rascals are probably brimming with excitement!!
Yea, right now they sleep in a corner. They are homeless and are desperate for an anemone they can call home.

Yes, they sleep vertically in the back left corner face down right next to each other.

Took some more pictures with my new S8+. I am amazed with the camera on this thing.

This acro is finally showing polyps. I was worried about it.

So, I was just on another thread and came across this picture in my phone gallery. The growth on this coral continues to amaze me. The coral is in a different place, because I broke it cleaning the glass, but you can see the picture is taken at the same angle.

Bored at work, nothing to do on the last night when you get all your work done on the first two nights, so I thought I'd add an entry to my build thread. I removed my chemical filtration Tuesday morning. My corals are starting to pale without any nutrients. I'm still dosing the red sea energy, A and B at 2ml each per day. I'm going to test tomorrow and see where my nitrates and phosphates are, most likely 0 still, and possibly start dosing Spectracide stump remover (potassium nitrate) to help feed corals. Going slow of course, nothing good happens fast and everything tries to change fast in this tank.

I've decided on my next inhabitants when I'm out of the fallow period. For fish I'm going to get a rainford goby and a sapphire damsel(same time or after the goby) and for inverts I'm going to add a sexy shrimp, or two or three.

Picked up a new acro that I bought grim my LFS before the holiday. It's been in one of their frag tanks healing for 7 days. Also picked up a bucket of Red Sea, the blue one not the black. No more worrying about an alk spike just from doing a water change.

My corals have been growing, but they are all slowly losing color. I've decided this is from my lack of nutrients available in the water. To correct this, using the information in @ReeferMadness80G's thread, I'm going to start dosing nitrates via stump remover aka potassium nitrate. Using the calculator at http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/calculator.htm, 2tbsp of KNO3 in 1000ml of RODI will give me a solution that will raise my nitrates by 0.49ppm/1ml. To try and get my goal of 2-3ppm NO3 I'll dose 4ml of KNO3 solution and retest in one hour. Current nutrient levels are 0-NO3 0-PO4.

Sounds good. Can't wait to see your progress! Best thing that happened to my tank. Besides water changes, do you have a way to export nutrients if it gets too high? Skimming? Maybe some bioplastic reactor? Macro algae? It seems kind of redundant how I add nutrients, but I also skim every night for 6-7 hours and I also have so much chaeto it's crazy! It's the method that works for me to keep No3 where I want it.

Where is that nem turtle? They forgot to send my frogspawn… so now I'm just waiting. Looks like your tank is doing well.
