Turtle's 14g SPS Nano Build.

New goodies came in today! Only had time to open up the fish guard because the fiancee said we had to go to Bed Bath and Beyond to do our registry. Yea, I'm just here for moral support... But, pictures!

If anyone has ever had a micro freshwater tank, and this product, then they'd know it doesn't work for micro (chili) rasboras. Lost a micro school of 13 in my micro tank. They were micro sized (.25 inch). It was a dark day.

@mkutsch, I'm glad I was able to get her out. She's just over an inch long and I didn't think that over flow would be a problem. The guard will definatly stay on until she's bigger. By then I'll be rehoming her and looking for another fish to go in the tank. I'll be upgrading to the Sicce 1.0 pump too, it's 250gph where the factory pump is 200gph.

Yeah, finds are a bit tight but I want to upgrade to a Radion (by the way--if anyone wants a Prime HD and/or a gooseneck or two, PM me!!) because I have some dissatisfied coral. I also am going to be purchasing a Reef Savvy custom 30 gallon 3 foot peninsula--their work is superb! And also, if you got that guard then I REALLY reccomend the small gobies: green banded and masked and eviotas. I love the gold neon eviotas! They are hardy, and have great personality.

Back from my trip to my LFS, Aquarium Specialty. Y'all give them a look at aquariumspecialty.com. Picked up the forest fire digi I wanted and two unknown acros, I think the second one is a Hawkins blue echinata. I might post them over in the coral ID section to figure out what they are. One acro is already showing polyps, the Digi looks ticked still. Ooh and check out the color of that new coraline growth on the turbo snail.

Found your nano tank build. Very cool! We won't talk about money down the drain or what i've spent in nearly six months. What the hubby don't know won't upset him... <g> When your coral beauty gets too big, are you putting her in your bigger tank? I'd love one of those but don't want my corals nipped! They are awesome fish. Wonder how one would do with 3 damsels or if the damsels are too much for a CB

@Susan Edwards The coral beauty will move into the larger tank once she out grows this one. If you were to get a wild caught adult I would think the damsels wouldn't be much of a problem for a coral beauty. The captive bred ones seem to be a good bit more peaceful and they are small when you get them. They also are less prone to nip corals. Mine is the size of a quarter and she was smaller when I got her.

Yes, I got it from the Divers Den but it's a Biota captive-bred Coral Beauty. The colors are simply amazing. Brightest yellow sides with orange stripes I've ever seen. The blue is neon under the Kessil. The pictures they have on the divers den makes the blue look faded and almost see thru. Here's what the divers den picture of my fish looked like...

And here is what she looked like when I got her.

I had to use the bottle to keep her safe from the female clown. She's happy as can be in the 14g for now. She has a sleeping spot tucked up under a rock out of the current, is always pecking the rocks cleaning up algae and hasn't nipped any of my SPS.

I got a new phone today. Got the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Definitely an upgrade over my Droid Turbo. The camera is so fast and sharp. I had to play around some.

I decided to move a Duncan colony from my 75g over here. It's starting to open back up. I'm not sure if it's the Aussie or the green, they both looked the same to me.

This seriatopora continues to amaze me at how fast it grows. I think I could sit in front of the tank and watch it grow.

Nice! Love the Duncan's. I think mine is the aussie. Nice to also see how the phone camera is so sharp as I'm going to upgrade soon from the six to the 8

@Susan Edwards, my old Turbo the camera would take almost a second to capture the picture and I could never take pictures of fish because they would be completely out of frame or moved so it comes out blurry. The S8+ takes images instantly. This is the first Samsung phone I've had so I can't compare it to previous versions.
I bought two colonies of Duncan coral, one Aussie one green. I think the lights on my 75g are horrible for corals keeping color because everything I've moved over here had picked up more color and the Duncans both looked really bland over there. I only have room for one Duncan in the 14g so I'll see how this one does. Hopefully it colors up nicely.

The Duncan opened up mostly today. Those heads on the bottom are still tucked in a bit, not really anything to worry about.

Just got home from work and the first thing I do is check on my nano. No ATO still, so I have too add about pint or so after a 12 hour nightshift. Looked at my acro and the polyps are way out. Haven't seen it this far extended. Could be that it was still dark and it was feeding. Turned the light on to get a picture then turned it back off. It's on a 1300-2300 schedule. I'm not a morning person, more of a night owl. So I have it set up where I can enjoy it the most.

i dont know but I think it's a little too early for putting sps in that tank maybe?
