We rarely get snow, it is normally sleet. This past year my daughter was out a full week because of sleet.

We do get a lot of sleet. People who get snow don't realize how problematic ice falling from the sky is - and when it freezes overnight.... the black ice in the morning... No bueno!

Yes! Too many people have moved here in the last 10 years and it has killed the housing market. It used to be one of the cheapest places to live now it is one of the most expensive. My house has almost tripled in value the last 7 years. Great if I wanted to sell but it is killing me in property taxes. The wife and I have already decided we can't afford to live in Texas once we retire. At the rate it is going the property taxes on our house would be over $10k when we retire. That is more than my current mortgage payment.
