Yeah, the phone filter works great on the 13 pro if I cover the correct lens at the time. But the filter isn't large enough to cover all three lenses at the same time. They'll eventually sell an updated filter, I imagine.

But you're right, the cameras sensors on the 13 pro are much better suited for the blue aquarium lights. I noticed that immediately too.

I have the Icecap filter and the cutouts on the clip make it impossible to use with an iPhone 13.

This is one of those "you know you're a reefer when" things. The first thing I thought when I saw the commercial for the iPhone 13 was "My lens filter won't work with that!" ;Hilarious

I think I’m going to try and cut out the parts of the clip that block the lenses. There’s nothing to lose by trying that, it’s not like it’s usable with anything else.

I’m not using the Radion anymore. I replaced it with two Reefi Unos and the Reefi mounting arms which are much less than the RMS mounts. Here’s what they look like. You can turn off the display screens on the front so it’s not necessary to look at that if you don’t want to.

The mounts are basically just 80/20 aluminum.

The Reeflectors keep light spill and glare to an absolute minimum.

Highly recommended, I would definitely check them out while you are still shopping for lights. https://www.reefi-lab.com/reefi-led-uno/
Do those light brackets rotate/hinge up? That would be cool!

looks somewhat open (not fully retracted anyway) and otherwise healthy though! He probably just wanted a change of scenery :)
Probably the case. Wrasse is mad though, it was sleeping in that crevice until the nem moved in on its spot.

The wrasse is not giving up its sleeping crevice without a fight. I was looking at the tank last night after lights out and I noticed the filmy cocoon stuff the wrasse creates stuck on a rock right above that area. The wrasse had settled right on top of the anemone and tucked itself in for the night. Very bizarre. I circled the wrasse in the pics and you can see the glowing Orange of the anemones tentacles.

I had to hold the camera filter over the lenses of the iPhone 13 which made zooming in difficult. Pics aren’t good but you can clearly see the wrasse on top of the anemone.

I‘ve had some damage to my acans lately and I suspected the culprit was the peppermint shrimp. Sure enough last night I caught two of them red handed at the same time, one on my nice red Acan colony which is now completely destroyed and another on my blasto which is missing a head. The peppermint shrimp gotta go but I have no idea how I’m going to capture them.

All that exposed skeleton happened in the last two days. That was a thriving 12 head colony. I’m not happy.

Maybe try putting a net in the tank. Let the peppermint get use to it. Then add some food to it? Or a trap?

Believe it or not, despite having multiple tanks prior to this one, I’ve never had to trap anything in a tank before so I’ve never paid much attention to traps or how to make them. Clearly I now have some research to do. That net idea might be a simple way to start though.

Im thinking a small minnow or crayfish trap.

Screenshot_20211020-014228_DuckDuckGo.jpg

May have to make it your self, to get real small, but some gutter guard and zip ties would do it i bet. A cyclinder with two funnels on either end.

They may make somthing.

Hopefully there’s something pre-made I can get. My DIY skills are not the best.

I syphoned the front part of the sand bed today and had the Unos in maintenance mode. Boy does that give a whole different perspective on what the tank looks like.

Not regretting the Orange Back Wrasse one bit, it’s a great fish.

The Eyphillia are all kind of front and center now.

I thought I was getting a good shot of the Rainfords Goby but there’s so much caked on crud you can hardly see it. I’ve got a scraper blade attachment coming for the algae magnet this week, I’ve got some serious scraping to do. This looks nowhere near as bad in blue light, can’t believe I let it get this far.

The Gorgonian seems to like it’s new spot in the back of the tank.

peppermint caught? Anemone okay?
The peppermints have not been caught yet but they have stopped harassing corals as far as I can tell. They may have just been picking at ones that were already dying. They have not touched the last micro or the one head that still seems ok on the blasto.

The anemone is just weird. Since it went into its current spot it has poked its tentacles out a little in the last day or two but today it’s balled up tight and no tentacles are visible. Probably due to the water change and stirring up of the sand bed. Phosphates were at .10 the other day which is higher than they have been in a while and Nitrate was at 2.9 which is lower so maybe it’s just not happy with the current environment, hard to say.

Hey man, good to see things still going well... hope the acan bounces back. Here is the method I used to catch my peppermints way back in the day. Small soda bottle - has to be the straight-sided type. Cut the top off maybe an inch down from where the top stops curving. Put a piece if rock inside and a raw scallop. Invert the cut off part after removing the cap and washing the whole thing really well, and attach to the rest of the bottle. Can't recall what I used for that - maybe scotch tape? I caught all three or four of mine that way in the first night.

Good to see you back on here man, I hope all has been well. Thanks for the advice on catching the pepps, I will probably use that idea If I can make it without screwing it up lol.
