I forgot to ask but has anyone seen full grown blue streak cleaner wrasse? My Georgia Aquarium friend took me to see theirs and they are massive. By massive I mean like 6” but that’s still a lot bigger then I’d ever thought they get.

Yeah, I saw your post in the other wrasse thread about them. Was surprised. Would be cool to see your tiny little blue streak fully grown and everything in-between.

Mines 4” and the most active wrasse, he’s still growing but with their lifespan of 7-10 years I’d say it’s likely they can get 6 inches in captivity.

I agree with you on that post though, there’s 3 wrasse on there that are highly active and grow large. I mean, you never notice how fast flashers grow until you get females or young males. My half bar is already around 3 inches.
He’s in this photo somewhere. Possibly above the cleaner. That Carpenteri I got is smaller than the halfbar now and I’ve had him longer.

Mean clowns have been moved to their holding cell with their favorite Toadstool. Plan is to make their temp tank a softie/nem tank. RBTA going on the rock and maybe a black widow. Gorgs, maybe a sinularia and some shrooms. Extra frags can go in the sand bed.

Now, with two nasty clowns out of the 40, that leaves me with the following:
1. Mrs. Pink Streak
2. Mr. Pink Streak
3. Identitychrysus
4. Macropharyngodon bipartitis
5. Cirrhilabrus brunneus
6. Yasha shrimp goby
7. Exquisite firefish
8. Tailspot blenny

I'm thinking there's room for more wrasses now! Even just one day with the clowns out of the tank, chrysus and brunneus are out in front of the tank a lot more, and brunneus literally stares at me and comes to the glass when I turn my office chair around.
Sad Puss In Boots GIF

Chrysus was never bullied by the clowns, but I think she didn't like the extra activity when the clowns got to chasing the firefish and the brunneus, so she would dart to the back--she usually darts to the back or right into the sand with any sudden movements in the tank or outside the tank.

I have a plan, but I'm not going to give away the whole thing. Some wildcards still to think about.

1. C. rubeus - was always in the plan, so that's not taking the spot of the clowns
2. Work in progress
3. Wildcard
4. Wildcard

Ideas for wild cards:
1. C. lubbocki
2. C. exquisitus
3. Wetmorella nigropinnata
4. Paracheilinus octotaenia
5. Paracheilinus carpenteri

Keep in mind, I'm thinking another 2 years or more before upgrading from the 3ft tank to the 5-6ft tank. I'm wondering if the octotaenia, capernteri or the exquisitus will be OK in there. A Biota blue streak cleaner would be cool too, but at 6", maybe wait for the upgrade (@Slocke ).

This is the fun part!

Lubbocki is one of my favorite. I have had mine for 2.5 years now. I got him as a tiny lil dude for my 50g. Now he is king of the big wrasse tank. Flashing every coiple hours. Mainly zipping across the tank lightly pushing his weight around. Never actually any harm from the big dude. Pretty gentle for dominant wrasse.

This is when i first got him

That’s when I first got it. Scary small:

Here it is a few months later. I don’t know if you can tell how much bigger it is.

Finally in here is what a full grown one looks like…. Maybe look behind the whale shark lol
