That would either be the ugliest or the nicest wrasse :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
The Coris cuvieri I’ve seen have looked kind of like an in between of both species so if it is a species maybe that one??

i cant think

Loving my gang currently, maybe that’s because I’ve got a couple rarer ones again but I dont know. Anyone else just get the urge to photo every wrasse you have even when you know they’re sleeping and won’t ever be spotted or get the camera focusing on?

My Diamond Tail was spotted in his cocoon today, all 3 flashers have been spotted but only one was wide awake.

That’s the one tang I’d love to have and may have in the future. There’s others I would love to have but they get giant or are outright nasty.

But once I upgrade I think I’ll be going with wrasses - Whether they’re rare or not is the question. I’ll probably be having more sand sleepers as I currently have 7 rock sleepers and 3 sand sleepers with one being rehomed.
One I’m considering is an Anampses lennardi once I upgrade, currently I’m only going for 1 final wrasse in this tank - Pseudojuloides kaleidos.

Hi. I'm new to wrasses. I was thinking about keeping a trio of flasher wrasses in an 80 gallon.

I like the Mccosker and Cyaneus. What other beautiful flasher wrasse can go well with those two?

and how should I add them to the tank after the first one to avoid fights? Because I doubt I'll be able to find the three at the same time to add them together.

Thanks.

Honestly, I’ve not done anything to prevent fights as with flashers they’re all very peaceful. The fighting you’ll see during introduction is more so flashing at eachother for dominance.

As for what 3rd one to go for, what’s the price range? There’s some gorgeous ones that are between 2-500 and some others that are between 30-80.
Here’s the 3 flashers I have;

Two are the more higher priced species (Attenuatus and Hemitaeniatus) but the 3rd is a Carpenteri.

My upper limit is 100 for a single fish.

I recommend looking into these species;
Paracheilinus rubricaudalis
Paracheilinus flavianalis
Paracheilinus filamentosus
Paracheilinus octotaenia
Paracheilinus amanda
Paracheilinus angulatus

And this is more pricey but IMHO, worth every penny - Paracheilinus attenuatus. My male was maybe 250, but he is the one wrasse that displays constantly. He doesn’t seem to stop if I’m honest and when he does it’s usually after he gets everyone else in display.

I got this one a Size, and Yes on Tang List. Like I shared this year I should have a New Tank. Doing other home upgrades then getting Red Sea 950 G2 Peninsula. So yes more room for Wrasses, and a few other Fish. Like Possible Captive Breed Regal, Marine Betta.....

Your New girl is on my wish list one I get the new tank...... Plus Diamond and few more leopards..

Maybe look at adding a Halichoeres iridis,

Amanda for $100? I’ll pay for shipping and get you a case of beer.

You are going to have to get one of the more common Flasher, or get really young ones. Better to do this anyway. Incredible fast changes if you take good care of them. I dated all my pictures (in the name) so you can see the date I took these pictures by look at the name of the picture.
I got my Diamond Tail female for 100.00 and my Eighline Flasher as tiny baby for 85.00. That was many years ago (2018 for the Eightline Flasher and 2020 for the Diamond Tail).
Both fishes were less than 1 inch when I got them.

The colours in this guy are stunning. I wonder if the streamers will begin as he’s young or if he’ll have to get a bit larger before they appear.
