Oh man those are stunning as well!Instead of Melanurus, go with a Halichoeres iridis. Instead of a Blue Star Leopard, go with a Macropharyngodon meleagris, and insteas of a Yellow NON Coris go with a Halichoeres leucoxanthus. I have not keep a Leucoxanthus yet but I will get a harem the first chance I have.
These alternate species are either less aggressive, more beautiful or both.

Is that the broche or teradactyl guy?
A trap. Or maybe netting in the sand. How would you go about catching and transferring a leopard wrasse into a new tank?
I don’t know. I think it’s the one comedic actor hired for airplane. The rest were mostly terrible actors told to try their hardest. Is that the broche or teradactyl guy?
I took my leopard from it's landing pad tank to the DT by scooping it out of the sand with an oversized tupper (keeping a lot of sand in the tupper so it didn't dart down and break its beak). Then slowly poured out the water and palmed the leopard in my hand with a bit if sand and then placed it close to the sand in the DT. Buried itself immediatly but didn't bump into any nems, rocks or otherwise freak outHow would you go about catching and transferring a leopard wrasse into a new tank?

But there's a good plan!Uggh
Guess I don’t know it by heart yet. Let me watch it another dozen times…
More pictures as he changes please. My Leucoxanthus just started transitioning last week. It's starting to get some greens and pinks in the cheeks. The belly is getting noticably whiter and brighter as well!
Yes skip the mystery as they are sometimes very aggressive. Maybe a different species of leopard or Halichoeres instead.Question for all the wrasse lovers...
Setting up a new tank (48x24) and I'm contemplating what wrasse I would like. A few I'm drawn to
-mystery wrasse
-radiant wrasse
-earmuff wrasse
-the leopard wrasses
I don't care for the fairy wrasses and don't want a six line. The tank will have a mandarin, so he needs to get along with that ( I have read the mystery wrasse may beat up a mandarin).
Id love to hear some thoughts!
Yes they sometimes struggle with shipping stress issues.Thanks. I really like the body shape and movement of the earmuff and radiants, so anything similiar to that would be cool. I have read that the radiants aren't as hardy, or maybe they just dont ship well.
I will have a shallow sandbed of 1-2 inches, if that matters. I'm not an expert like you guys are, so any other recommendations would be cool!
