Didn't know such things existed. But, they won't work for mine. As I have the HD version of Prime.

That’s weird. The first option is for a Prime HD. Then further down, it says not compatible with Prime 16HD, but then after that, it says they “strongly recommend” the HD models! Confusing… I think maybe they missed some updates in the description when they last updated?

I noticed that too! ***shrugs***

If you do decide to go that route, I would email them to verify fitment before ordering.

I also forgot to mention, my prime started doing weird things not to long ago. I would get channels dropping out intermittently during different times of my light cycle. Turns out they are extremely sensitive to voltage drop and my issue was caused by a failing power supply. I ordered a generic replacement off Amazon for 15 bucks and it has been working flawlessly since! The issue became very pronounced when I tried to run a preview of my light schedule. The dropping of channels became extremely obvious during the accelerated light cycle and appeared as flickering.

After replacing the power supply, it ran through the preview smoothly.

I got a chance to swing through @Tidal Gardens today and met Than. What an amazing facility! Even my wife was impressed and she’s not much for this kind of thing. Than was super gracious and showed us around even though we were late and most everybody had already gone home. Class act!

I picked up this Tropadelic chalice from him. It’s huge! This is what frags should be like! Screaming deal! Here’s hoping I can keep it alive lol

Make the time lol

Yeah it was amazing. The peak of their profession (I’m sure TSA and WWC are similarly impressive, maybe some others too). Absolutely worth a trip to go visit.

I played around a little with the blues tonight. I’d like to adjust my lighting so I have a few hours of blue after the more daylight end of the spectrum I normally use. Photos are with a red/orange filter.

I dig it :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I just need to get around to modifying all the stupid little sliders in the AI app. I hate that there's not a desktop version

At some point I probably need to prioritize getting a large tablet for things like that.

So I’m taking a play from the @telegraham playbook here…

IMG_1342.jpeg

Re-rolling the fleece is going to be a PITA. But if this works well it will save me a ton of money. These rolls don’t last NEARLY as long as I was hoping. I’m only getting about 3 weeks out of them.

This is post-wash. I’m sending it through once more, then doing a clean cycle on the washer.

I need to make the most of my wife being on a trip. This will be our little secret. Don’t tell her, m-kay thanks :face-with-tears-of-joy:

What is your lighting schedule like currently?

This is what I am running my Prime at over my 60 cube while I decide on a permanent solution with the blues on my A360X dying...

Maybe I should just get a 32 or 64 (my corals seem to be really liking the prime, I just don't like over-driving it ((blues and violets pegged at like 166)) like I am long term or getting two blades to cover the blue spectrum and ramp down the prime...

Idk...there are just so many opinions about lighting....I get sucked into the noise hard-core...i just want a beautiful, successful tank that grows corals like crazy!

Eventually when I have to replace lights I’ll probably shift away from the Aperture brands.

That is what I have been agonizing about. Really heard so much bad about aperture and lying on testing. Brs videos falsified or exaggerated, just really think I want to go with a lighting brand that is in it for the betterment of the hobby. Not just to make a buck. That's why noopsyche, reefi, and quanta are really on my short list. Really leaning towards a reefi because I don't think I would ever outgrow it.

Eh. I don’t know about falsification. Like most everything, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Are they the best lights money can buy? Meh. Can you have a great reef tank with much less expensive options? Definitely.

in the same boat as far as aperture brands go. looking to slowly change everything from
controller to pumps and lights.
