in the same boat as far as aperture brands go. looking to slowly change everything from
controller to pumps and lights.

I dread the thought of changing out my controller setup :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I hear good things about Hydros but man I hate how the cords all stick straight out of the components at 90° angles. That does NOT lend itself to neat/compact cable management.

true but im willing to deal with it, ive already purchased the launch, minnow and xp8. just need to set aside an entire day to make the switch. Ive had a wave engine hooked up for over a year now without a hiccup so that helped me move forward with the rest of it.

Nice. Are you using Neptune stuff now? Let me know how the transition goes!

I have been wanting to add 3rd and 4th powerheads but REEEEEAAALLY didn’t want to spend the money on Vortechs!

Those are going to be SUPER popular.

Yeah, I suspect they will probably be hard to get initially because they will sell so fast! Maybe it will even force Ecotech to bring the price back down! Competition is always a good thing for consumers!

Starting to wonder if I need to temporarily make some adjustments to my kalk or refugium…..

IMG_1351.png

High of 8.47!

My wife is out of town with both dogs so it’s just me in the house, and I’m gone for 24 hours every few days for work. I already have my kalk running at night, and my refugium is running around the clock (originally to account for high nutrients but I’ve had the opposite issue the last 2 weeks).

I have recently increased the intensity on some of my lights (the Blades) and have had a corresponding increase in alkalinity consumption. So I’ve had to increase my kalk dose.

I would rather have this issue than too low, but I think it’s starting to get to the point I might need to make a modification - at least until the other 3 CO2 factories get back from vacation lol

Starting to see the side effects of this... my corals are RAVENOUS. My NO3/PO4 have nearly bottomed out, and my alk is dropping faster than it has for me before. I keep having to do one-time adjustments with sodium bicarb and increasing my kalk stirrer. I'm up to 1.25 liters per night of kalkwasser. I have also started to notice a few of the stoney corals showing more signs of growth than they were previously! :)

I assume bumping my AI Blades up 25% is also playing a roll in all this. If my numbers are still down next week when I check my alk/nutrients I will need to increase my feedings to keep up!

Although I just noticed these are more like the Nero and similar pumps as they have a wire in the tank. I definitely like the clean look of Vortechs and no wires in the tank...so should the need arise, I will be ordering jaceod/jabeos!

at the end of the day for the price of those I wouldn't mind a little wire in the tank.
put it on the back wall and I wouldn't even notice it.
