Okay, ladies and gents (and everyone in between), on today's episode of Advetures in Reef Keeping, whilst finally getting around to pulling the reactors, I discovered that the gate valve feeding my ozone reactor off the manifold was stuck open. Ugh. Had to shut everything down, cut it loose, and replace the assembly. Fortunately, I had enough junk in my box o' plumbing parts to slap together a new one. I'm going to rebuild the entire manifold because I was out of 1.5" blue pipe and it doesn't match, plus I've never had a ball valve fail, whereas gates have caused me a number of headaches. That being said, I wasn't too concerned about the appearance. Pardon the sloppy work. Here's some pics of the hot fix:

Sure you can! There's a couple of weeks you can ice fish up in Flagstaff - Upper Lake Mary.

Sure you can! There's a couple of weeks you can ice fish up in Flagstaff - Upper Lake Mary.

Really which weeks, seems like it never really gets that cold!

Yes, absolutely. Ordering the parts to rebuild the whole manifold. I just needed to slap something in temporarily. Looking at this, long term, would.make my teeth itch. At least I painted the valve handle. Lol

Looks like a ton of fun, by far my favorite fishing ever, here is my old set up when I lived in Colorado!

Alright, now that the manifold / gate valve debacle was solved (for now), I was finally able to yank the dang CaRx out for maintenance. I installed a brand new Sicce 0.5 pump, new tubing, clamps, check valves, and then rinsed and topped off the media. The fittings were swapped out on the old pump and the impeller was cleaned / reconditioned. It will be shipped off tomorrow to hook up @Zos4me for his nano. Moving right along...

I do miss the seasons at times, but the cost of living in Colorado just got out of hand, although I lived in Glenwood Springs/Aspen Area which was expensive to begin with.
