Good morning, Heathens.

Losing coral left and right.... parameters are all within normal ranges. Tested again this morning.

Heating up water for a large WC.

ICP test vials filled and going in the mail tomorrow.

Bummed out.

I'll be less active this week. De-Christmafying the house today and, now that I can grip tools, finishing the bathroom reno starting tomorrow.

Don't burn the place down in my absence.

Namaste.

Everyone is well. No aggression. The new specimen is still getting its bearings and settling in. Getting less timid by the day.

I vacuumed the sump, did a 40 gal WC, swapped out reactor media with fresh lignite and GFO, recalibrated all probes and dosing pumps, and ordered cuprisorb for overnight delivery. I removed all magnets from the tank, just in case. I don't think there's any heavy metal contamination, but at this point, who knows what's going on.

This morning's #'s:

Nitrates: 14.3
PO4: .18
Alk: 11
Ca: 515
Mag: 1400
Ph: 8.21
Salinity: 34 PPT @ 77F
Orp: 295

There hasn't been any wild fluctuations in parameters. No known pests.

Mostly new SPS additions struggling and bumming out the torch or older citizens as well grumpy? Hmm
A mix of both. I had RTN, STN, and browning with SPS (old and new), and poor polyp extension on LPS, with the exception of the Duncan which is happy as can be. Two of the torches 8 heads are fully retracted. One appears to have significant tissue recession. Not BJD... visual observation and it passed the smell test.

Anything else seems off in the tank? Stray currents?
Nope, not that I can tell. There is also a grounding probe run to a GFCI. Nothing has tripped.

The only thing I can think of is the recent treatment of the tank with Rally, Kick, and Medic. I've used all three together in the past before for a longer duration with no I'll effect on corals, though. Save for a bit of LPS polyp retraction.

I tested my RODI and makeup water. 0 TDS on rodi and all media is still good, including all three resins. It has to be some kind of contaminant. ICP-OES going out tomorrow, but the results will take about 3 weeks. I'll run Cuprisorb in the emergency reactor as soon as it arrives tomorrow and see how things go.

Could you have had something on your skin that might not have been washed off completely? Just throwing anything at the wall in case you might not thought of it.
