Agreed every tank is differentGotcha. I'm not sure what evidence the system is based off of other than just trying to reproduce natural parameters with a method alternative to water changes though. At the end of the day, coloration is very subjective and wildly varies from tank to tank, from month to month. It's also impossible to eliminate the other 1000 variables in your tank to say that changing one variable will for sure produce X result. It's just the nature of the hobby. Try to formulate overall trends from your own tank and variables, and go from there. I'm weary of absolute claims in this hobby.
Tck had a great $5 torch earlier I didn’t grab it but that’s been the best one so far. I grabbed the bounce mushroom that was $5, but it wasn’t one of the like $500+ mushrooms.I think they stopped those from abuse unfortunately. I saw two 5$ but where small frags of tck milli and a fox flame i think so doesn't really count as those crazy old tck specials.
I wasn't implying evidence for reef moonshiners, but rather that they have a valid premise and I like that. I was more referring to my own personal philosophy. Lots of people can have lots of anecdoodle experiences, but without actual evidence, that's all they are.Gotcha. There are a bunch of $5 frags and every auction starts at $1. Unfortunately we stopped the $1 frags a few livesales agoI think they stopped those from abuse unfortunately. Yup. Whether it's people showing fake PayPal screenshots to a busy employee at a coral show while walking off with the coral after not paying, or people trying to buy every $1 frag in a sale so no one else can get them then trying to pick the exact one they want to keep, it gets tiring. Instead of spending all the hours trying to play that game of cat and mouse, or having to get yelled at on the phone by a customer that expects their $1, $5, $5, and $5 coral to be shipped to them despite the restrictions, it just wears you out. There are wilder stories I could tell you, but the few I mentioned are 100% real stories that aren't terribly uncommon. 95% of the hobbiest are amazing that we love giving goodies to! That 5% takes a wildly disproportionate amount of time and effort to deal with.I think they stopped those from abuse unfortunately. You all did do the best 1$ I've ever seen. Absolutely crazy pieces. Thank you for them even if others abused it some (me) really did appreciate those great deals!!There are a bunch of $5 frags and every auction starts at $1. Unfortunately we stopped the $1 frags a few livesales ago
The truth is, 90% of the results you're going to get are based off nutrients, in my experience. Get those in range and stable, and you'll see a dramatic change in survival, growth, and coloration. Again, coloration is subjective, but survival and growth is not. The proof is in that pudding. I personally see NO3 and PO4 being the absolute two highest value parameters, outside basics like temp and salinity.I use moonshiners, and chasing numbers can drive you crazy. I'm considering stopping, and going back to water changes, but making it basically automated. While I noticed a change in my acros with moonshiners, I think it was more of me paying closer attention to nitrates/phosphates, getting alge out of tank etc.....missing a week or 3 of moonshiners didn't seem to change anything.
