Out of curiosity, why do you prefer dosing trace elements over simply doing a water change? Do you have a large system? The only way I'll ever do reef moonshiners is with dosing pumps.

How many things you dose with that? The only way I'll ever do reef moonshiners is with dosing pumps.
impressive to say the least
I'm lazy. (Also, I have way less time than ability to automate).Out of curiosity, why do you prefer dosing trace elements over simply doing a water change? Do you have a large system?
Reason I ask is because I've done both, and simply doing a WC was far less expensive and time consuming than having to get all the extra equipment, chase numbers, etc. That, or just set up a calcium reactor, if your demand is heavy enough. Seems kind of silly to be chasing numbers when the natural concentration is .001ppm, or something like that, to begin with. The DSR (Dutch Synthetic Reef) system (the original name for dosing the minor trace elements with no water changes) indeed can work, I just didn't find it economical or a good use of time, or at least that was not my experience with it.
My philosophy is that if you can't remember whether you have it or not, it will be just as exciting when you get it, regardless! Yaaayyyyyy!!!!anyone else have to double check to make sure you don't already have a frag before bidding on a new one
