Life is full of challenges, might as well have one that is enjoyable. Nothing like having a chunk of the ocean in the house to look at.

First time joining in one of these giveaway things, so hope I'm doing this right! Official entry...

Would love a custom lid for my 37gal... My old tank sprang a leak a couple months ago and had to swap it out for a new one, but the lid on the current one only has a filter cutout on the back instead of the side like the old tank, so now my filter sucks up bubbles from the bubble wall and the microbubbles irritate my fish afraid to cut the lid out myself though because I'm not convinced I won't shatter it!

Anyway, I've just kind of always been a fishkeeper. My parents got me a tank when I was teeny tiny, and my grandmother had a seahorse tank that I adored! I've just always kept fish since then. Moved to a marine tank about 8 years ago because I fell in love with Green Spotted Puffers and the rest is history! I just love learning about fish, and seeing all their different personalities and such (especially puffers... They're like sea puppies. Smartest fish I've ever come across). The most rewarding part for me is just watching the fish honestly, I love all my little buddies.

The reward is late at night, before the lights go out, and you see the tiny things in the tank risking life to start looking for food. The pepermint shrimp start to peak out from under the montipora. The fighting conch cruising the sand bed. The corals with the feeding pieces waving in the water.

If I thought I had the skills, I would love to add a small octopus to the tank.

TANK TALK: Coral placement... How do you decide where to put a new coral in your reef? Is it based strictly on the coral's needs, is it about how it looks, a bit of both (how do you balance that)?

I look for corals that fit the placement and then pick the one that I prefer the best.

Sad news.... I was gone all day yesterday and had a jumper. Got home last night to find my Halichoeres Garnoti on the floor. She was a goner. She was easily my favorite fish in the reef. Always coming up to the glass when I was there. She was active and almost always picking at the rocks and sand searching for food. Such a beautiful fish as well.

Always loved watching my father's tanks growing up. Love watching everything grow and seeing all the challenges that come with them. Some times its nice to a different puzzle to solve after a long day at work, or to just watch the fish and corals sway in the currents
