very nice and healthy looking tangs to me! Yeah was thinking about this tank, but am tempted to just wait longer get 200G thats 6 ft long. I just dont know whats the best company to go with. Get overwhelmed looking at custom builds and red sea has so much bad reputation with their tanks that i see.
I say go for the 200!! Bigger space and more options for tangs. I went from a 125 gallon to a 300 for that reason. Found out tangs are what I really like keeping and would be able to get my all time dream fish, the emperor angel!! Plumbing it right now is a PITA to be honest since it was a custom set up and the drilled holes SUCK. But my fish love the space, especially my naso and unicorn tangs

beautiful! i would love to try a copperband lol but idk if i want to risk my corals.
From what I see they tend to not do awful with corals. My cousins was great for years then decided to eat his zoas and zoas only lol. My LFS keeps them in their coral tanks actually

I've never seen her pick on any coral. This is the second tank I've had her in. She came from stick tank but I wanted her in the new tank for aiptasia control.

Tank is a water box lx 330.7 84x30x25" the 30" depth is awesome compared to the 72x24x24" I upgraded from. It's my tank thread. Warning contains a lot of old guy ramblings but a lot of pics as well.

i was highly debating on a waterbox! I just wasn't sure about the stand doesnt seem like there is much room.

That tank is awesome, but little over my price range.

Idk maybe I'll do a little more research on waterbox tanks. INFINIA Reef 230.6 is a bit larger than the 150G i was looking at. It also is 6ft so more swim room for the fish. 72.3" x 25.3" x 23.6"

price is about the same. Pros and Cons of having a waterbox? Or the LX series a lot different from the infinia?

Not sure to be honest. I was shopping by size only, at least 7ft length and 30" depth were my requirments. I have no regrets going with the LX 330.7. It's taller than I wanted but my only other option was custom which I just didn't feel up to.

EDIT : the 30" depth is what limited many of my choices. I almost went With RS s1000 but didn't want to compromise. I have an older reefer 170 and a g2 300 and have no complaints.

My Copperband is murder on Aiptasia anemones.
I would get a Gem tang if I was setting up a new system and let it cruise the tank in peace without competition from other tangs.

There are so many beautiful choices, which helps me not get any more tanks myself.

this is true gem tangs are awesome. Seen some locally around 250 for small ones. Maybe ill do that. It would be fine with a foxface right? rabbitfish and tangs dont usually bother each other?

I have not tried these two together but my foxies don't fight with any of the tangs in their tank, (Historically- Blue, Tomini, Purple, Vlamingii ) or the copperbands. I think they would be great together.

I would add the foxface after the algae appears. They destroy it, usually.
Yeah I'll 100% wait till tank matures a bit. Still in the planning stages. Was curious on tangs that would fit in a 150. May go larger just to avoid the "man i shoulda went bigger" fomo.

Chocolate tang, lavender tang, yellow tang, purple tang, bristletooths (kole, tomini, white tail ect…) gold rim, powder brown (depends, mine was chill but some have had ones like the powder blue temperament wise).

Tangs NOT to consider with the 150g size: orange shoulder, sailfin, unicorn, naso, clown, sohal ect

No issues, I have two foxfaces and they actually like to swim with my naso and vlamingi tangs :)

I recommend a yellow, I kept mine in a 80g 4 foot for several years without any issue. Nice and mellow and great algae eater, ate my bryopsis. It's in a 40 breeder now temporarily, still nice and calm, it will be going into a 150g 6 foot soon.
