Not sure on what we will do with the mangroves, but they make the room look nicer :p

Today's work. Drilling, cutting, glueing.

Beautiful! Always enjoy reading about your progress.

How do you keep the jellyfish alive longterm?

Thank you!

We are breeding these jellyfish when we need a new generation. It's pretty easy. Specially when you have a colleague who's a jellyfish expert :)
These jellyfish gets to about two years, then they start to look old.
We're feeding with newly hatched artemia. They also host zooxanthellae, so they do okey with just good light as well.

The electrical safety part of me finds it surprising you are allowed to mount the 22oV power strips directly above the tanks on the temporary structure. Are they protected by a RCD?

I know.... I'm supposed to be looking at the coral... I can't help it!

All sockets are on RCD. So we are kind of following the rules I think.
But if we were to take a swim the tank, the tank would be in the category swimming pool. In a case like that we can't have 200V closer than 2 meters(or maybe more, I don't have it in my head) away from the tank. But as long as it's an ordinary aquarium and no swimming we can use 220V above the tank.

There's a R2R member who just add 48 pacific oysters for pre-filter, you guys ever consider that, I've heard they can live in 60°F- 78F(Pacific oysters) . I can see 500 oysters to help filter.

I really like the idea! We have a couple of blue mussels in our cold water system that's been there for some years now. But the mostly end up as sea star food..

In the reef tanks our corals are the main filter. We're adding both nitrate and phosphate daily to keep up with the demand. Just started to add EasyBooster algae concentrate as food for the corals in the new acrylic tanks. I think we will add both live rotifers and artemia nauplii daily too, just need to set up a dosing system.

Whoa How did I miss this
Welcome!
It's a kind of messy thread because of all the different tanks and the three Aquariums(the old, the temporary and the new Aquarium). So let me know if you want me to explain something:)

This Eheim pump has been the return pump in our Cassoipea/Upsidedown jellyfish tank for nine years. It has never been cleaned and never caused any problems:D
IMG_7718.JPG

Perhaps we should spray paint it in gold and put it on a pedestal;) (the tank was taken down this week, the pump is still working)

I'm hi-jacking your pic. For different thread I'm commenting on. Pump design. Not my thread. Thx
