great tank! may i ask your hydra setting/schedule and mount height ?
Here ya go. Was a modified saxby, but with out the t5s installed, I needed more light lol. T5s may end up getting put back up this weekend, not sure yet. Nothing is doing bad or anything, but starting to see a little more shading taking place.

Some random pics I took as I walked by and got some more coffee. Excuse the dirty glass on both tanks. I plan to clean it today lol.

BC32 is humming along. Love me some insta tanks lol. Also, the clowns found the nem lol.

Some FL zoas from the collection event a few months back, as well as some other zoas and a odd looking decorated goby that decided to turn a 180 when taking pic lol.

Ok, sitting here after finishing bush hogging 17 acres and had a thought.

I am not happy with the color of the hydra lights. No matter what I do, I just cannot get the MH look like I want. So go to thinking, the fish barn is no more and I want to go back to Kessils. Now that is the easy part. Just drill a single hole in the center of the 2 holes that hold the hydras and they will be centered.

Now, the rock work is centered in the tank, so shadowing should be minimal going from a dual puck to a single puck. My concern is that with the kessils I will need to add the t5s back in to get the par I want and the MH look that I can get to with that combo.

That is where it gets interesting. I would have to put the 61” hybrid back up. I know the shelf will hold it and there is plenty of space between the brackets that hood the shelf. My concern is how the heck to mount the fixture to the shelf and not use suspension wire like the fixture uses.

This is where I need some input. I am thinking about using some bolts with the heads ground down and slid into the slots where the suspension wires go, but am straight brain farted if that will not work lol.

Here is a view of the shelf above the tank and the fixture.

So essentially using the wire slot as a T slot, and modifying some machine screws to fit?

Correct. I have a massive amount of titanium and stainless machine screws to choose from lol.

Maybe go with 4 kessils to get the extra par while also helping with shadowing. I presume you will be patching the old holes anyway.
It is a standard 180, so 4 would be a task to get to where the braces didn’t interfere. I do have 6 lights, so could always go that route. The reason for the t5s is that I can almost replicate the look of 3x halides with 12k bulbs. I love that look, as ran it for many years.

In addition, I do not really have to redrill for the kessils as they can just sit in the hybrid fixture.

The other issue, I just thought of, is the glare from the t5s. I think I have that solved though. I have some scrap black acrylic I can cut to make a shade similar to what is on the hydras. That will be must or Kristy will lose it lol. This tank is in the TV room and from where she sits, if she looks that way, the light would be right in her eyes at seating level.

I don't see any reason that wouldn't work
I just had a thought that may even be better, as I know the suspension wire hardware fits.

Tig weld the bolts to the hardware and then just do it that way. That may be what I do, as it is just 4 small welds and done lol.

Then again, may just try the bolts first, so the hanging hardware is still there and not modified if I need it in the future.

Seems like breaking out a grinder for the heads, versus breaking out the welding gear makes it about as much work to me.

Well, both are already setup and ready to go lol.

Think I am going to do the bolts in slots first and go from there.

As usual, I am over thinking this lol.
