Cleaned a recently purchased used tank and found these scuff marks.

I have never seen a scratch that looks like this as it almost appears to be a build up of some sort but I’m leaning towards it being a scuff right now.

Does not seem to be a crack as it’s on a single side (internal) and is pretty curved / shallow and not uniform… though I have never seen a crack in person. The texture is somewhat rough almost like beach glass.

The tank glass almost .5 inches thick.

There were other similar marks that I was able to Razer off.

Have any of you encountered something similar? IMG_0266.png IMG_0270.png IMG_0269.png IMG_0268.png

in my experience if it’s a contaminant, scrub it with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and it’ll come off. If not, look to polishing/wet sanding but you likely won’t even notice it with water in the tank.

Got it, and yeah it’s incredibly difficult to see when full definitely not going to sand it but maybe will try the magic eraser as a last attempt.

Thanks!
