My reef crystals always mixes up high on calcium. 470-490 still okay? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it below about 470.
Someone can provide an answer but I think that's getting close to causing precipitate...maybe 500?

There's a chart I've seen that says what the calcium and corresponding alkalinity levels should be. 490 is like 15 dkh.

Can you elaborate on this? So is my alk way off?
No. Your alk is where I'd look to be. Your calcium is probably higher than what your alk is supposed to support but mine's pretty similar.

Sorry, I got you all discombobulated. Your alk is good, calcium might be on the high side but your tank is happy.

Not trying to start a huge testing discussion but I’m about to run out of some tests and wondering if anyone feels strongly about any of them? I’m currently Milwaukee - Salinity, Hannah - NO3, Phos PPB, Salifert - everything else. Thinking about picking up Hannah alk test and restocking salifert cal and mag.

I don’t know I’ll probably end up with an Apex setup sometime but not for a 14g.
Sounds good to me. I use the following:

Salinity - refractometer
Alk - Hanna
Nitrates - Hanna
Phosphates - Hanna
Magnesium - aquaforest
Calcium - Salifert
PH - Hanna

I really like the Aquaforest one. I think I'm going to get that for calcium and mag going forward.
