Currently at 11.4 and some acros aren’t too happy and losing some flesh
What i often find is your alk isnt the issue. Yeah thats high as hell, but if you were consistently dosing and it was stable, then all of the sudden you see things dieing snd theres a spike, you have an underlying issue that caused the tank tonstop consuming, like a contaminant heavy metal, or starving coral because of low po4/no3/bacteria/food in general.

So youre seeing coral throwing flesh for a reason other than. High alk, and your seeing high alk because your coral are unhealthy. Not coral dieing from high alk, rhough it surely wont help. Muriatic acid is the way i would reduce alk, but i always just stopped dosing for 24hrs.

Yikes muriatic acid? Wow. I’d just stop dosing too. I’ve seen that stuff melt dry rock.
