I hope this is alright Shane.

Need some help on a new acro. I received a frag of BigR Walt Disney today from someone who is not SBB. It is clearly a bottom branch clipping as one side is dark and lacks corallites. Should I for a place to mount this so that the shaded side remains shaded or should I look to let the shaded side get more light? Will the shaded side color back up and develop corallites? Pic is from just know after acclimation and dipping:

if you place it in the same angle(darker side facing down) it will stay dark. if you flip it vertically, hopefully the darker side should correct. if you flip it so that the darker side is getting light, and the lighter side not, then you'll just invert the coloration.

So leaving it vertical in the hopes that the shaded side colors up is not a danger to the coral? I am (over)thinking that the shaded side may not deal with the lighting intensity that the bright side can.

leaving it vertical wont harm the coral, but help it color up on that side. leaving it shaded or flipping it over will only leave it to color down. this is mainly what using frag racks are for. allowing the SPS/coral time to adjust to the lighting
