I was thinking the same thing. But if his acros all closed up, probably not the case. @NatanylJames did you test what the AF batch ALK was before the water change? Maybe you got a bad batch with crazy low ALK? My AF batch tested 8.0 and my tank was 8.5. The next two days after the 20% water change my tank is 8.4. But like you said, your tank is happy with RC and RC is cheaper than AF(when not on sale) so may as well not change.
Yeah maybe a bad bag? But with reef crystals working. Why do the testing lol

Isn't that called a brazier... :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I'm sorry... Not appropriate
You’re safe. This is an example of a brazier

Morning! Need cleaning techniques for my MP40s. I clean the algae off with a stiff brush weekly. They have been running perfect for almost 2 years, but the coraline is really building up on them. What’s the best way to remove/desolve the coraline on the wet side?

I bought an extra wetside for this purpose. Pull the dirty one, swap in the extra for no loss in flow.

I soak the dirty wet side in citric acid for 24 hours, dismantle them and scrub with a stiff bristle tooth brush. Comes right off.

I do take them apart including popping the clasps and pulling the magnet/prop section. Unfortunately I end up doing this more than I would like as I have 100s of tiny snails that propagate in the tank and find their way into the internals of the pump.

All sticks are mounted in fairly permanent spots, torches are temporarily in sand bed until i get a flat rock. They are most definitely not happy. Sticks are 50/50 PE.

Freebie was a mini colony. Pictures are trash right now, will see if i can get some good color shots this evening.

Before/after and after sections.

Compression is brutal on reef2reef.

Hes been nipping at my corao for a while, it keeps getting worse. I feed so heavy. I always have some greens on the clip. Watched him nip on multiple pieces on frag rack and multiple SBB pieces at least once. Hes going to LFS after work.
:( I love my blue hippo. He’s one of my favorite I’d be devastated to loose really either of my tangs
