Couldn't live without it. That was one of my have to have things for this system. Not saying I’m getting old, but moving around lots of water buckets is not something I wanted to do at my age. Only down side is setting it up with the Apex doser. Pushing that much water, it runs at high speed and is quite loud. Even if I set it up to run at night, it would wake me up if I don’t keep the bedroom door closed. Fortunately after a career in jet fighters, my hearing is not the best so I’ve gotten used to it. If friends are over, I just turn it off for that day.
Is this a once a day thing? And do you take water out first then add the fresh SW?

I'm upgrading from a 40 breeder to a 225 most likely here so looking at automation stuff. There is a lot of different opinions but I'm deciding between apex or hydros

Yes, one a day. The doses run at the same time. Water is removed from the entry area of the sump and puts new saltwater in the return area of the sump. They are taking out and putting in the same amount. With their separation in the sump, it is probably effectively changing out 95% of what the dosers are doing.

I find my lines start clogging after 6-8 months. I usually notice when my high level sensor starts tripping. Usually happens on the waste line. I’m thing of just cycling citric acid though that line ever 3-4 months.

Apex better integration and app.
Don’t know about the hydros, but using Apex dosers is quite loud. I’m thinking about moving that set of doser to the garage, which is on the other side of the wall from where they are on. That way the noise issue will be solved.

I wouldn't pay for apex doser. Maybe for auto wc only.

Had that happen once. Caught it monitoring the salinity. It was putting in more salt water than it took out. Also noticed my ATO wasn’t using any water. Cleaned the line and it was fine.
