When I found out Tidal Gardens used instant ocean. I just decided to stick with it

This is my saltwater storage tank. It’s plumbed through the wall to the RO tank in the garage. It holds 75 gallons. I auto change 2.5 gallons a day through an Apex doser. Have to refill it every 25 days. I think with the high Alk that Reef Crystals has, it causes a lot of Calcium precipitation in the storage tank. I have to take it out and pressure wash it out about every 5 months. I’m thinking a salt that starts with a lower Alk content would not cause so much precipitation gunk to build up in the storage tank. Tank is white and you can see the dark buildup on the inside.

Couldn't live without it. That was one of my have to have things for this system. Not saying I’m getting old, but moving around lots of water buckets is not something I wanted to do at my age. Only down side is setting it up with the Apex doser. Pushing that much water, it runs at high speed and is quite loud. Even if I set it up to run at night, it would wake me up if I don’t keep the bedroom door closed. Fortunately after a career in jet fighters, my hearing is not the best so I’ve gotten used to it. If friends are over, I just turn it off for that day.
