I have a onespot fox face. Only eats algae and anything I feed the tank.As long as they leave sticks alone like my parrot fish.....were good.
If I change out the sediment and carbon filters, I disconnect it before the RO unit and flush till it's clear and then another 10 gallons or so. Don't need that stuff clogging the membranes. What is your flush process for changing Sediment /Carbon/DI filters? Do the BRS mixed DI need to be flushed for a few gallons before use? I normally use SpectraPure MaxCap and SilicaBuster and I think the MaxCap needs to be flushed for awhile. I just got in BRS Pre-packed Mixed DI, I'm going to give that a try.
Thanks. Does the "flush valve" prevent the water from going into the membrane after the sediment and carbon? The spectrapure lasts a long time, I'm curious to see about this BRS DI as well. I'll keep you posted. If I change out the sediment and carbon filters, I disconnect it before the RO unit and flush till it's clear and then another 10 gallons or so. Change the RO membranes, flush again before the DI Resin, 30 minutes or so.
Change the DI, I don't flush, some people say to flush 5 gallons.
Let me know how the BRS resin works for you, it didn't seem to last as long as some others I've tried.
No it doesn't, it diverts some of the flow. You can unhook the hose before the RO, or you can remove the RO membrane.Thanks. I think in the past what I’ve done is pull my hose to the final/clean water and connect that to the exit of the carbon blocks to go down the drain. No it doesn't, it diverts some of the flow. You can unhook the hose before the RO, or you can remove the RO membrane.

My spectrapure MaxCap High Capacity lats 6-months before the TDS registers 1. At that point I replace it and the 2nd DI together. With the new 2x BRS DI cartridges I installed today my plan is after the 1st DI registers 1-TDS, will wait for 1/2 of the color to change in the 2nd DI and then replace both. We’ll see if it can make it to 6-months like the Spectrapure. I make about 65-gallons of RODI per month. If I change out the sediment and carbon filters, I disconnect it before the RO unit and flush till it's clear and then another 10 gallons or so. What did you get for the pics?Picked up a neat little top down thing for pictures. Now I don't have to put my phone in the water lol
The cosmic bubblegum is encrusting well too. Hopefully it'll take off soon. The orange blast is going to encrust the whole rock I think sometimes. Took one picture in 5400k before changing to 10k so I left it in.

I was wondering the same thing. A viewing box maybe? What did you get for the pics?

My orange blast is the opposite. Very hairy and mostly greenish. I’d rather have that orange! Mine also has super thin branches even though it’s getting good flow.
I use something similar, works great! They had this at my LFS beside the checkout. So I figured I'd grab it and try it!
