Part of the reason I switched to moonshiners is because of less waterchanges for when I switch to the 300. But...I will still do 5-10 gallons every couple of weeks to clean sand so why not use a better quality salt was my thought. With salt getting so pricey it made more sense and saves money at the rate I was doing wc.

Which salt are you using now?

I feel like my tank looks better after a 10% WC, it feels like im "cleaning things up". Once i use up this AF im going back to RSCP just figured that bargain deal was too good to pass up.

I really need to commit to a few ICP over a couple months and dial in my trace dosing. Im just shooting stuff in a little willy nilly right now. Small doses but who knows if somethings building up.

Started dosing iron again.

Side note Alveopora looks like its alright, never saw it do all that crazyness, ever.

seth meyers announcement GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

For this sale we are running to fun things :)

1) we will do a sticker prize reveal for 5 Lucky people. What this means is that on the back of the free sticker we send we will put a number on the sticker. Number 1-5. This number will the correspond to a prize. We will give 5 Prizes to be revealed after all the sticker numbers are claimed. Number 1 will get 1st pick on the prize and then number 2 will choose and so forth. In order to claim your number, you have to take a picture of the sticker with the number you got and post it here within 24 hours of receiving your box. If you don’t show the number you got within 24 hours you will forfeit your number. Once all the numbers are claimed. we will do a reveal sometime before May 1st. The reveal will show the 5 prizes that can be picked. Once the Reveal is complete the winners will choose the prize starting with number 1. Good luck to all we can’t wait to see who wins! Tag us if you won or the claim won’t count

2) we will do an unboxing video contest for a $250 Gift card. We will pick a video at random and award the winner after all boxes have been shipped. The idea is that you will do a video receiving your corals. You will document the package coming in and opening them and then showing them in your tank. We will use the video on our testimonial section of our website. We hope many people enter this contest. the video must be on YouTube. Tag us with your entry or it won’t count. Good luck to all and we cant wait to see what you got!

3) stay active as we will be giving out random $25 gift card as this thread lives on!!!!!

I like the control and Information of the kasa smart power strips more than my apex. My apex is now just for probes.
I use a wifi Kasa outlet splitter on my nano, I only needed two outlets controlled and I am super impressed with the app and functionality. Plus, it’s outdoor rated and water resistant. I will double down and add my recommendation to the kasa products

Can’t wait !

Are there any more the sticker prizes available or are they all claimed?
There’s 4 remaining I believe as I’ve only saw one claimed. Once all shipments are sent and stickers claimed, Shane will go in order of who got a numbered sticker for the prizes

Y’all know I invented a magnetic shelf grow out system designed for 2x2 tiles?

And then made a few tweaks to adapt to other corals as well

It’s modular and reusable and can swap styles whenever needed

Soo look at this. Perfect example. I just got this Millie. It’s encrusted over the plug. And in my frag rack. Good flow, good height and par, I want it to grow out a nice chunky base. I don’t really have live rock space at the moment to mount it. Need to figure that out. But in the meantime I want it to continue to grow out the base

But I do not want it to encrust on my frag rack and then when I move it I lose all the progress or damage it

So grow out tiles are good but then I’m moving down to my sand bed and I’m cutting my par in half, it’s getting down by the sand and critters that could tick it off, it’s in lower flow instead of out in the open on my frag rack.

So this was my invention. I decided 2x2 is a good platform to work with and allows a good size base but not too big where it’s difficult to relocate and attach.

A created a magnetic shelf that holds 3d printed 2x2 tiles with a hole for the frag plug so it sits flush. The tiles are printed rough surface so the coral can attach easier

So the above frag would go in the custom tile and I don’t have to remove the plug or anything. It just goes right in

Then the tile goes on a custom 3d printed magnetic frag shelf, and I can keep it up high and in better conditions. And when it finishes encrusting, I’ll have a nice 2x2 mini colony that I can wedge in between rockwork like a bridge and throw some superglue or epoxy in place

Then I thought where else can this be utilized? And yes you could use this for other corals like…

Anything really that comes on a plug and needs room to encrust and grow out.

But then I thought of propagation zoas
And made this 5 hole tile, and modified the shelf to match

Now you can add 4 blank plugs on the outside and your source frag in the middle. It rests on top of the other 4 and as the zoa grow they will naturally end up on the surrounding plugs, and you just remove as needed and replace with new blank plugs
