I did everything but silicate for the dinos. They were ostreo and went away with in display uv. Within about a week or so I had hair algae growing over everything. I upped my cuc, decreased lighting, manually removed, cut feeding etc it did not slow it down. Nutrients bottomed out but every post says you can't measure po4 with gha... I disagree now haha

Dinos crash nutrients....not lack of nutrients causing dinos. Lack of nutrients can cause cyano. By the time p04 gets to 0 it's because the dinos have consumed what's there..hence pumping up the p04 doesn't necessarily rid the dinos..it can fuel them. Waterchanges won't help either. In display uv, silicates, filter floss on nori clip in high flow, blackout for a day or two if you want (I dont), and basting off of rocks will get it worked out. This is for ostreopsis but the non free floating varieties are a different beast
Dealing with large cell amphodinium in one of the tanks. Lives in the sand so uv doesn't help. Having to dose Silicate to induce a diatom bloom to outcompete the dinos. Long, ugly process.

@Thuan got the tooth pulled but he wouldn't let them get the spacer in.

But that alone was an improvement. Normal visits and cleansing can be... Difficult... To put it mildly.
That spacer needs to be in there doesn't it. Anyway, major kudos for this far. Any bribes I can offer him.
