I've been interested in using Ozone, that article might be enough for me to give it a try.

Also the fact using activated carbon, which has been controversial. I always have a small amount of carbon running on my tanks.

Water changes, still not outdated.
The biggest problem with running carbon all the time for me is the depletion of certain elements. Every now and then or when needed is ok

Annoying when you try to help a newbie identify coral and all they care about is the specific name, as if all corals have a specific name, or that the name even matters.

What did you notice was depleted? Curious as I have carbon and GFO stacked in my reactor.
Iron and other trace metals. It's ok.but I have to raise my dosing whe I run it. Most of the trace it depletes depleye fast anyways but gac hits it quick.

makes sense. I was running it after chemiclean treatment. Was just thinking about it today and going to just run GFO instead as I don't really have a need for carbon currently

funny how we all took something different from that article. for me the take away was that I need to find a way to add a cryptic refugium to promote sponge growth in the back of my AIO. im thinking just a black piece of acrylic laid over the second section of my AIO which is currently filled with rubble rock from TBS. its high flow and I should be able to block almost all light

speaking of feeding, I hit the tank with one of its big feedings today. Frozen mix for everyone (marine cuisine, emerald feast, spirulina brine shrimp), AB+, and phyto.
With how dark that phyto was you might have as well called it spirulina powder lol

Broke off a piece of the Montipora where my new structure will go. Holy C**p! I need a bigger hammer. It’s 1/2” thick. No wonder I can’t keep up with the calcium dosing.

Do you notice your goni and other corals open more with the feeding of AB+ and Phtyo
Many goni experts swear by the ab+ for gonis. They say that is the key to long term health. I think it was in the vid about the 40 lbs goni! For acros I don't I like photos. To much spoilage in ab+ in my belief for acros. Gonis like it stinky!

I took from it the fact my avg ORP is 438 I'm probably good. Funny part is...everyone and all the research I've seen has always led me to the fact that the orp number was pretty much useless. But...being the scientist I am...I know that anytime my orp was below 300+ the tank didn't look as good.

AB+ is great for gonis and especially zoas. The downside is...it's great for algae too.
