That's what I've always seen and heard too. They have dark fishy tasting meat.

Theyre a super bloody fish. You can bleed them and maybe eat them? Some have had good results. I never would, ive caught all my biggest fish using bonita as bait, hands down my favorite bait in the ocean.

Blackfin can be bloody, i cut the artery then shove the hose in their mouth to try to exhaust the blood out of them. Eat well when fresh but dont keep worth a dang so youll never see it in a restraunt for that reason.

True. It is from all accounts more like mackerel than regular tuna.

Thats bonito. Bonita is little tunny, just a bloody dang fish. Best bait. Fun as all hell to catch the big ones but if youre live baiting and theyre thick they can burn up $100 worth of live bait no trouble lol
