Never heard of this. Its always been one or the other. Remote + matching chip

And the to upgrade to wifi you need a wifi chip and it replaces the remote chip and remote

Not trying to be offensive but it’s very hard to follow you sometimes

When the v2 photon was released it came in pro and plus.

There was no base v2. The base model was v2 plus and the upgrade model with wifi was v2 pro

And I see you mentioning incompatibility and wifi and if you have wifi in any way the you are upgrading to pro, which does need a different chip from the plus
