Too much nutrient and the coral might turn an unattractive brown color. Too little nutrient and they might take on a pale emaciated appearance. Given the choice between the two, I would prefer a slightly higher nutrient level. Nitrate and Phosphate are not bad in and of themselves.

Unlike @VintageReefer i do feed my gonis.
and I do believe they eat - as I’ve seen them take in food particles

BUT in a tank that small I wouldn’t. Just because you could end up with nutrient overload.

Feed the fish well
The corals will eat from catching food
I have tried
Benereef
Brightwell reef blizzard s
Various frozen products
Dr g refrigerated lps max
Dr g Red refrigerated copepods
Frozen reef plankton
Red Sea reef energy ab+
Reef jerky
and probably more

Some of myGoni…will accept copepods or plankton but many ignore it while a neighbor will grab it. A lot of mine have never shown any interest in eating anything

What do you use ?

Every couple of weeks I dust my gonis- they all eat…how much hard to tell. It doesn’t seem to raise po4….because if it did I would be fighting to get it up all the time!
