Mine hid under the rocks for a bit, though the Black Widow seems to have been pretty happy in lots of light from the start(BW is SBB). Right now both are basking in 200 plus par. The Acro above the RBTA died this morning. It wasn’t doing well to start and I think the nem must have stung it. IMG_2366.jpeg

Is that acro above the nem getting stung? Looks like it is peeling.

Question for you all. What do you do when the acro completely encrusted around and beneath the plug. Do you cut off the peg and mount on a small tile?
I panic since I have no strategy to mount 40ish acros in my 30 gallon. About 10 are already there, but I couldn't fit 30 tiles into my tank, so I have no input on what to do.

My afterburner from 2 sale ago is completely encrusted and covered the plug and the underneath too

I’d cut the peg and glue/expoxy to either the aquascape or a big piece of rubble, if I still want to move it around. If it’s in a frag tank then a tile.

@tbrown just installed the diffusers from the Noopsyche USA site. I wouldn't grab them if I were you. I'll test par in a bit, but the design has too large of a "bevel" on the bottom which blocks part of the LED puck, making the spread worse and is a poor design. Look at the light under the edge of the puck and you can see the round circle is cut off.

I got the Parlaquatics shades without diffusers.

... I can make diffusers for them with my resin printer.
He got some reflectors for inside and a diffuser. He's considering removing the lenses and seeing how they do with no lens, a diffuser for blending, and reflectors to gain back some of the lost light.

I took a 2 inch frag tile and drilled a hole in the middle of it with a masonry bit. Then put the encrusted plug through the hole with some glue. Hopefully it will just start encrusting over the tile.

Didn't thought of that. May have to try it.
