just wondering do you think the " recession is hurting peoples pockets? or is it not really affecting you?
Yes I have less SBB spending money honestly. I work commission based sales... so those checks on a monthly basis don't look at great as they used to...

also helps both hubby and I work from home. the extra gas $$ goes toward our girls school supplies and uniforms which are ridiculous every school term
There are a lot of opportunities to save money right now but unfortunately you need to spend money to save money to do it. Switched to a heat pump 2/3 less cost on heat and ac vs boiler. Car cost 5 dollars full charge at home... I have free 3 year charging with EA. Looking into solar next pays for itself in my state in 3 years.

When I do w/c for my 180 and 65, I pump the waste water from the basement to the main level bathroom in a brute. I use it to flush the toilet. and to water my plants and flowers. We barely use the AC.

Good choice like 50mi on battery in summer and 30 in winter. Just use the free plugs where available and save. The aquarium had them free and resturants likee the 99 have free 2 hours. Some kmarts. Burgerkings.

Switched to electric car for me thought the wife takes premium only so some cost increse
Still takes fossil fuel to make electricity. Even if we had total wind, sea, solar energy capabilities...China is buying up all the lithium mines while "going green" is pushed. Eventually, we have to pay just as much or more for the batteries to operate said "green" tech. Then...at the end of the day it all ends up in the ocean anyways..lol

Definitely affects decisions, partially why I get a lot of scrutiny from the wife with this new hobby. My job isn't recession proof at all in tech, but I'm really good at what I do so hopefully that makes me indespensible.

I'm very hopeful with our advancements in fusion energy. Hopefully within our lifetime we'll see it. Recent tests have been promising :)

I suppose I’m “lucky” in that mental health issues won’t ever end. Don’t get paid huge amounts but it’s steady and guaranteed .

Indeed..and thats just for the people that really need it. Now, the victim crowd can increase the workers necessary as well.

Petrochemical based fuels are unfortunately still the “cheapest” and ironically as has been mentioned are part of the process to make ”cleaner” sources such as electric.… nuclear was once touted as a clean ener=rgy source and we all know that has turned out. In the end run wind, hydro (properly managed) , solar, geothermal as well as a promising option . Fusion is the Holy Grail though. Yes promising tests/experiments have been done but it’s still a long road. And you’d have to break the dysfunctional relationship between petrochemical companies and polititians.
