I'm sanding now... this is just a test fit.

Almost got myself... was super careful though so expected it. Bummed I wasted that material but it was extra so didn't slow me down.

I grabbed 5 gallons of water earlier today to dip some new corals I got from Petco. Starting to see a noticeable decline in algae. much has turned white. I'm pretty excited... for the ATO Reservoir and the Kalk stirrer... They will end most of my daily aquarium chores - I spend a lot of time making sure the ATO bucket is full and that I have kalk...

I got a magnetic optical sensor. XP Aqua.
Those are nice! I got these sensors from amazon, 3 for $15 so I am hoping they'll work. I'll re-drill another hole and close-up the hole. rookie move on my part.
I was thinking about heat-forming the float to make it thin but that may end up looking odd.

So the optical sensor is a "just in case" the float fails, right?

I also have a solenoid switch so I'll be using the optical sensors to fill the tank (when the water gets below the low one, fill till the high one) and the float is the backup.

xenia is already budding... don't know how to get it off the shell. would love to keep it and grow some out for timmy snacks.

How'd you like the optical switches from Amazon?

Ended up buying them and wiring one through a Apex FMM to control my diy skim locker. Came out cheaper than the 27 bucks for a Neptune model sensor. May use one as a ATO low switch, but I'm using a tenecor ATO storage and I'm not ready to drill, lol.

So far I think they’re ok. Haven’t wired them yet. Just put the reservoir in so can’t wait to wire it all up!

nope; just the breakout box for the sensors; the Solenoid is using a 12V adapter on an eB8 powerbar.
I still need todo all of the wiring and programming. Am currently just using the float valve for control.

ATO reservoir installed! It just fit. I was nervous about not having to remove my sump to get it in so I made a cardboard mockup to verify before I cut the acrylic. I added an acrylic tube for the dosing line used by the kalkwasser stirrer.
